I know, and my point is that type of censorship next may find it's way to the entire game, hence my slippery slope comment.

It's not a slippery slope. It's a gaming company doing what they want. They could put the Nazi symbols in anyway but it's not very capitalistic to leave money on the table.

They had Nazi symbols in Sniper Elite/Zombie Army Triology and a depiction/mission with Hitler as well.
If the game is not historically accurate, I will not be buying.

If people don't buy then they will adapt. If people buy and they continue to censor then yes it could be indeed a slippery slope.

Single players isn't being touched from my understanding. It's only multiplayer

Got to thinking, Im guessing sooner or later we will be shooting people with cotton balls or paint balls in shooting games. Matter of time eith how things are going.

Yeah it's a valid comparison, because companies will do whatever the consumers accept. If they accept x then they will go to y and if they accept y they will go to z. Dollars is all that matters and if game developers can take the easy, politically correct way out and still make money they will always do so.

Or on the flip side, if game developers want to try to force a vision they have on the public such as Call of Duty in space, and the consumers don't buy it wholesale then they will find themselves back to making COD games in WW2.

hhmm....CoD is now a safe space, huh? Pass for me then. You can't change history, as much as certain ideologues from one side of the political spectrum would like.

I'm in the camp, "I don't really care about your feelings, what's happened in the past has happened, and it's stupid to try and erase that."

I always laugh at the, "you can't change history" phrase as if removing a symbol from a video-game is somehow revising history or rewriting anything.

I thought it was clear that the symbol most likely wouldn't be included in multiplayer since multiplayer is a global platform and various censors must be adhered to. It is still in the single player from everything I have read. If you don't like the censorship laws in those countries (Germany being one of them) I understand, but to claim its a slippery slope or revisionist history is hysterical. This censorship has been happening for 25+ years and we are still able to kill Nazis and even Hitler on occasion. I guess somebody forgot to oil up the slope.

But yes, the sky is falling. Put on your hard hats.
