I've done mostly co-op firefights, where we had 4 guys against over 70 enemies...it is disappointing if you die early with no respawns, but you get to watch the rest of your team try and take out the enemy. I ended up playing that mode for like 3 hours with Kruza and others. A lot like terrorist hunt in RB6, just outdoors in more open area, rather than close quarters combat

        Re: Ghost Recon 2 Impressions

Ghost Recon 2 is a more slower-paced game than Rainbow Six 3 series. All the soldiers you control walk and generally move slower in GR 2 than in RS3. It's more tactics and strategy involved in GR 2, and less "running and gunning." (Although playing Squad/Solo Sharpshooter mode with respawns enabled can get almost as hectic as your typical FPS deathmatch fragfest.) Maps are much larger in GR2, so you'll tend to get into less close quarter gunfights with enemies in this game than in the RS3 games. Less multiple body shots can kill you quicker in GR 2 in comparison to how it is in RS3.

It's different than Rainbow Six. Rainbow Six is urban, close-quarters fighting. GR 2 fighting takes place on much more open maps, with more vantage points for sniping, etc. GR 2 feels more open and less linear than RS 3.

The "no spawn" games are awesome. The tension is unreal because you know that one wrong move, and your game is over. So you're really careful, really tactical while you're sh*tting cinderblocks, wondering if there's an enemy around the corner. A refreshing change from the frantic fragfest of Halo 2 on XBL.

Plus I enjoy watching my teammates try to win in no-spawn Siege after I'm killed, especially if they're friends of mine. Some of the commentary among the killed watching the living is pretty funny. We talk some good-natured sh*t in the lobby while watching guys who are doing stupid things trying to stay alive.

Edit: OOPS! I basically reiterated Kruza's post. Sorry, man! Guess I should read the whole thread before replying.

Good times though man. I'm glad I got the game to be honest. I love the GR series. Once I learned to switch guns and command my players some I enjoyed this once a bit more...lol

BTW, how do you call an airstrike? In the training, I missed what it said and couldnt do it for some reaon no matter what bottons I pressed or how long I held em down.

When you have the gun that "paints" the target you have to hold the shoot button down for 7 seconds. Then you hit the white button to call in the strike

These impressions have convinced me to get this game. I'll look for you guys online after I get it. Never played these types of games before, so it should be intersting.
