looks like I was correct. It says the beta testing is over.

unless people with the beta can still play it.
While I appreciate you coming back to try to "prove you were correct", although I'm not sure what the point is...you weren't.

They took the servers down yesterday for 2 hours and brought them back up. They never said when the beta was ending, so most of us assumed it would be when they shipped the CD's (the 22nd, after the weekend).

My wife went to play this morning (after being able to play at 10PM last night) and it said the beta was over.

So yesterday you could have played.

    Today you can't.

That's not what I was intending to 'prove' by posting above. Things just get filtered the wrong way over the internet.

I was just going by what the site said. "11/18/04".

          I can't wait for it. 2 days w00t w00t.

I was in all BETA stages and I can say the game is incredibly fun. TCrouch did you or your wife get to about level 40? If not, thats when the game gets to be really fun (just like DAOC). I can't describe everything about WoW that I like but I can tell you that its going to get game of the year for me, and a game I plan on playing for more then 2 years.

Welcome to BETA. Every BETA ends like that and works like that. Servers testing out to see if they can handle the load. Just so you know WoW had over 550,000 people signed up for Open BETA, on 40 servers, which means that the servers should of been running slow or crashing. 550,000 people is a lot of people.

I've beta'd about 35 games, and yep, it's normally how it works. It wouldn't have surprised most of us for Blizzard to end the beta the day before it ships though...especially since EQ2 recently launched. Why risk a couple thousand users hopping over there, finding out it's decent, and not buying it on launch day?

Keep 'em hooked...won't matter in the long run more than likely, but why risk it. Either way, I probably won't grab it at launch. A bit after, but not right away.

I'm grabbing it because I love MMOs, but I know a lot of people won't right away because of the heafy price tag per month. 15$ a month

What is the game like? Is there a lot of "down time?? I am a big fan of CoH mainly because it is "all action all the time." Any info on the game play would be greatly appreciated

yeah, a comparison of the similarities and differences from CoH would be nice, CoH is the only MMORPG I've known, but I know others take a different direction.
