Re: any World of Warcraft nerds out there?

I am a Dwarf Hunter and now I am hooked. The world is so huge and just flows seemlessly. I am only a few kills away from 10 so I get my pet tonight

I have tried a Human\Palidin, Undead Warlock, and now the Dwarf\Hunter.

I will be sticking with my Dwarf. My Skinning and Leatherwork skills are climbing pretty fast so if anyone needs some armor let me know. Hey Terry, maybe we can work something out for you to make me a nice Axe.

Anyone hear an Engineer? I could also use a nice Gun

No, but my Elf Druid is an enchanter so I could do some magic on your armor and such. Oh, and Terry helped me get my bear shapeshift power.

Guys, should I ditch my elf and create a dwarf? I'm finding it hard to find someone to team with. Just seems like alot of people run solo or in a group of two. Also, how do you share quests with a teammate? Every time I have tried to share, it says my teammate isn't eligible even though they are the same level.

I don't know if you share quests in specific...any time I've teamed we've just told what we're looking for, and if someone has "kill x things" then they count no matter who kills them, and if it's a collect mission then that person just collects loot. If you both have a mission where the item needed is 'unique' (a head of someone, a certain book, etc) then it party spawns (meaning everyone can loot, doesn't go away after 1 person loots).

As for switching to a dwarf, I wouldn't think it's a big deal, eventually we'll all be able to get together, but I guess it depends more on if you like the Druid build, if so just keep it. I've also got a night elf, so if I'm on as the other one I can switch over, I like my hunter as well (just been playing my rogue more lately). Right now we'll team to do stuff, but a lot can be soloed so far, it does get harder (I've got an elite mission that has lvl 20 mobs or something, that's a bit rough for my lvl 13 so gotta wait on that)

Also, I'm gonna try and make leather armor for people, and I can mail it through the game (takes some time though), since you're a little away from me right now. Injun and I are skinners/leathermakers, and we're getting that up pretty well.

when you look at your quests some have an option to share them with group members. Not all quests are sharable but I did share the one we did last night when I had to explore the cave and do some killing. Mgos kills were counting against the mission once I shared it

Re: any World of Warcraft nerds out there?

Switching to Dwarf isn't that big a deal. Reason I know: I love the Paladin, love the dwarf lands, but I'm not overly fond of the little dwarves themselves. My solution: reroll Lancelot as a human paladin. At level 1, I marched from the human starter lands over to Anvilmar (the dwarf starter camp) and was able to do all the same starter quests. So now I have all the stuff I liked (dwarf lands are the best in the game, bar none) and a race that's more "me".

The part that'll suck is redoing all that blacksmithing and mining

So I wouldn't get caught up in switching races...all you have to do is make it to wherever the rest of the players are. The only thing that matters is not being Horde, or we can't play together. Gnome/Dwarf/Human/Night Elf are all fair game. Worse comes to worse I might be able to escort some people wanting to get over to Dwarf lands on my hunter; he's made the trek before, and can guide the way.

Re: any World of Warcraft nerds out there?

I am addicted beyond all hope to this game. Let me tell you a story about an adventure the night before last that kept me up until 3:30am.

I am now a level 9 Night Elf Hunter on the rp server Earthen Ring. So far the community on this realm is GREAT! I was on a quest hunting down a few certain creatures when I stumbled into a cavern and absolutely got my arse handed to me by the overwhelming number of monsters. I escaped just before I died and sat outside to eat and heal. While sitting there 4 more people came stumbling out. I started up a conversation with them and suggested we all group and go in and clean house. Problem was, I didn't even have the quest needed for that cave. The leader of the group shared the quest with me and we set off into the cave.

There were 2 hunters, a druid, a warrior, and a rogue. We fought our way to the end of the cave, all along the way backing each other up, healing each other and making sure we all stayed together and safe. It was an awesome time. We got to the end but the boss (I forget his name now) had just been killed so the rogue built a fire and we all sat around the fire sharing food, stories, and laughing our butts off at some of the animations and speech you can get the toons to do. The boss probably respawned 10 times while we sat there but we were having too good of a time.

After killing the boss and collecting his head, we realized that we had a straggler along with us that couldn't pick up his head due to not being in our group. She was upset since she would have to go back and do the cave again....by herself. So all but one of our band volunteered to go back out, group with her and get her the head of the boss. Now THAT'S what an online community is all about. I've not had this much fun playing a game in my entire life. And I'm a married father of 4 so my time is VERY valuable.

If any of you guys want to get on a rp server with a fine community (as far as I've seen anyway), come on over to Earthen Ring in the Eastern list and look me up. My name is Elderon. I'm the old white haired night elf. I could use the help since I just suck at this game. But man is it fun.....

Terry, I'm thinking this is what I'll do. I have 3 quests to complete and then I will try to get to the dwarf lands.. only problem is I think they are very far apart and I have no idea where to go to get there in a timely fashion. The furthest I have been is south of Auberdine, I think it was call River Bend or something. Also, as a druid I may be having to travel back to Moonglade some..no?

That's why I said I'd escort you if you like. I know the way, and once you make it one time you can take Gryphons to fly back and forth. All you have to do is make one hellatious run through level 21+ aggro mobs alive. After that it's flight time, baby.
