People are for reviews if it backs their argument, and against them when they don't.“I believe the game is designed to reward the ones who hit the hardest – If you can’t take it, you shouldn’t play!” Jack Lambert“Quarterbacks should wear dresses.” Jack Lambert -
Re: Ghost of Tsushima (PS4 Exclusive)
Pre-ordered from BB months ago, and it arrived in Atlanta last night. Seems like the UPS workers messed up and didn't put it on the truck for delivery today.
Oh well, guess I'll have to make up for lost time tomorrow.Comment

Re: Ghost of Tsushima (PS4 Exclusive)
Noob question from me for anyone who has played 2 game save stories.
You can play this game taking two different paths. A good guy story or a bad guy story. Is/Has anyone been playing both? How different is the game story played out from each other?Comment

Re: Ghost of Tsushima (PS4 Exclusive)
Bought it and started playing tonight. Liking it a lot so far. Feels a lot like an Assassins Creed game. Have a bunch of my F1 career mode to play along with some AO Tennis career and MLB The Show franchise, but as far as single-player story games, this one is at the top of my list to play and a must-finish.PSN / Xbox GT - BLUEnYELLOW28Comment

Re: Ghost of Tsushima (PS4 Exclusive)
Finished the prologue which is a bit of an odd mix of quick cut scenes and gameplay but teaches you the basics of gameplay. Combat is harder than I thought it would be. Doesn’t take many hits to die. Have to be more defensive. Definitely can’t just spam attacks. Parry, dodge and blocks are crucial. Not sure when I should use the stab attack. I like the combat so far.
Gameplay graphics are fine but not as good as TLOU, HZD, GOW or other Sony exclusives imo. Some parts look good and some things look mediocre. The cut scenes look really good although the frame rate drops on the Pro (I chose Resolution over frame rate) can be bad at times. The story itself is fine so far. Looking forward to playing more tomorrow.Comment

Re: Ghost of Tsushima (PS4 Exclusive)
Absolutely loving the game so far. Personally, I love the art style and the environment and world are right up there with HZD. I’m very early in the game, so I’m not sure how the story/side quests will match up with The Witcher 3, but I could see this being right up there with Witcher as one of the best open world games.
I’m playing on HARD and find the game to be very challenging. I have not gotten to the point where I’ve upgraded Jin’s skills or move sets, but I’m impressed with the difficulty. Overall, the combat feels light years ahead of Assasins Creed or The Witcher. It’s not as strategic or tactical as Nioh or Sekiro, but it looks and feels great, and it’s very rewarding.
I look forward to diving deeper over the weekend. Enjoy, everyone!!Comment

Re: Ghost of Tsushima (PS4 Exclusive)
After three hours of free roaming, I can say with confidence that this is the most beautiful game world that I have ever experienced. Graphics, ambient sounds, LIGHTING, vibrant colors, the day/night transitions, weather effects, varied landscapes (and I’ve only uncovered a small area of the map) are world class.
Kudos to PlayStation. This is a true magnum opus effort on their part. It’s like they knew they wanted to release this as their last PS4 exclusive when the first trailer debuted back in 2017.Last edited by ch46647; 07-18-2020, 12:41 PM.Comment

Re: Ghost of Tsushima (PS4 Exclusive)
Very early impressions as I'm only a couple hours in but I have to say the gameplay itself is pretty good. This is one of the games I essentially bought the PS4 for with he other game being Spiderman. I've chosen to play thia game on the hard difficulty and it certainly provides a challenge. That may change once I start upgrading him but the challenge right now is real.
Blocking and parrying attacks are vital to your survival and parrying for me is proving to be the most difficult to get the timing down - as it should be. The enemies are toughest when they mix up enemy types in a single encounter like a spearman and a shield man. Swordsman on their own aren't as tough solo in the early going.
The story so far is good and atleast entices you to play on to learn more. I'm a big fan of the old zatoichi films so I love playing with Japanese language and English subtitles which is great. Draw back of this is you can sometimes miss out on the visuals/scenes as you are busy reading the text.
As far as graphics go the game looks good but part of me feels like they scaled back some things just so they can probably crank it all up on the PS5. I have no proof of this but to me the lighting and some of the textures don't appear to pop like they did in the earlier videos. It's like they disabled some assets like Ubisoft did with the first watchdogs on PC. I'm playing on a PS4 pro and a 4ktv. Again, not saying the game is ugly or anything but I feel it took some obvious steps back from what was shown early on.EA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. Instead of a safety net waiting down below there will just be angry customers quick to move out of the way and talk of their failure.Comment
