Re: Ghost of Tsushima (PS4 Exclusive)
I'm a simple man. I see a game about kurosowa style samurai. I buy
I think this is the first console game I will be playing this year that isn't a remaster

Re: Ghost of Tsushima (PS4 Exclusive)
Pretty funny how almost all the "bad" score reviews I've read so far, have all mentioned in their own way that the game is a lot of fun.
Isn't having fun the most important aspect of a game? Seems like they're knocking off big points for other things, but literally still pointing out the game is fun.
Oh well, scores don't matter to me, I've got it preloaded already, and can't wait for Friday.
It has to be a really specific reviewer or YouTuber for me now.Comment

Re: Ghost of Tsushima (PS4 Exclusive)
The older I get the more I realize a lot of people don't understand the original objective of video games. Turning to reviewers who can't make a YouTube video shorter than 10 minutes or seem to be staring at the word count on their written reviews isn't for me anymore.
It has to be a really specific reviewer or YouTuber for me now.
It's one reason I really enjoyed a format like Xplay (old video game review TV show). I doubt that all of the reviews were genuine from the hosts, but I think a lot of them were. Getting to know a reviewer is even more important than the review itself.

Re: Ghost of Tsushima (PS4 Exclusive)
Well, I thought about it and thought about it, and after seeing some gamelpay from jor raptor, I was sold...
The gamplay reminded me ALOT of Assassins Creed, but that didn't bother me, that was actually a selling point as I enjoyed Origins and still am enjoying Odyssey, so I can't wait to dive in to this world while I wait for Madden21.People are for reviews if it backs their argument, and against them when they don't.“I believe the game is designed to reward the ones who hit the hardest – If you can’t take it, you shouldn’t play!” Jack Lambert“Quarterbacks should wear dresses.” Jack LambertComment

Re: Ghost of Tsushima (PS4 Exclusive)
I knew after I saw gameplay originally back at E3 2018 for the 1st time I was gonna love this. A legit samurai game based on the Mongol Invasion!?....SOLD! Then I saw the combat and it instantly struck a chord with me. Everything since has only sold me more on it tbh. Compare that to my reaction to the Avengers game where I initially was excited when I found it about it (probably due to coming off of Spiderman) and even the 1st gameplay demo(though something seemed off). Then everything I've seen since has only lessened my enthusiasm to the point I'm not sure I even want to play it anymore. The "Destiny" mixed with "Ultimate Alliance" just doesn't appear "fun" to me.
I will say as far as reviews go, I tend to make my own judgement on things anyhow because I know I'm not overly critical on things if I enjoyed myself. I'm the same with movies actually. I've played some really awful games in my time so I appreciate when good-great games pull off what they do. Particularly now with how ambitious games and developers are now. I'm older now and time isn't what it used to be, so me enjoying something is paramount. At the end of the day it is a videogame and that's the point.Comment

Re: Ghost of Tsushima (PS4 Exclusive)
Really wish this would come to PC, but Sony seems reluctant to bring any exclusive onto the platform. I'm torn on buying it because I hardly play my PS4, but if it were on PC I'd be getting it 100%. Game looks great.“No one is more hated than he who speaks the truth.”

Why don't you want to play it on PS4?
Digital Foundry posted a video about the game tech wise and should have their frame rate comparison video up tomorrow if this is your concern.Comment

Mods, graphics, and controls.
The last one is certainly big for me. I stopped playing Horizon Zero Dawn half way through the campaign (a game that I loved) because I just can't stand aiming with a controller anymore. I wish Ghosts of Tushima was on PC, but the setting and the fact that there is less "aiming" with a sword make it worth buying for me.Comment

Re: Ghost of Tsushima (PS4 Exclusive)
Frame rate is one concern, but I'd assume this will be 60fps on the PS4. It is much more convenient for me personally to have all of my games on my PC these days. I never sit down just to play my consoles anymore. If I'm playing a game I'm in Discord talking to my friends. Gaming time has become more focused on the social side of things for me than it is about the actual games.“No one is more hated than he who speaks the truth.”

Shame you quit Horizon as it's an excellent game but the complete edition will be on PC on August 7th (which im sure you know already) so hopefully, you'll play and experience the entire game.
Graphics wise, I can see that but watching Tsushima videos on youtube at 1080P or lower with them being compressed still looks great to me so I can only imagine how great it looks when I play it this Friday.
I do wonder how the PC options for Horizon will be since Death Stranding is limited to 720P, 1080P, 1440P and Native 4K.
Mods are cool as long as they don't screw up the game when you're playing.

I want 60FPS as the standard for next generation but I must admit that when it comes to Sony's first party titles, even at 30FPS, they run and play pretty damn good. The lone exceptions would be Days Gone and Bloodborne.
Hopefully, Tsushima will eventually go on PC. I do believe that it's just a matter of time before Sony officially announces their first party titles being on PC day one. Too much money for Sony to leave on the table to not do it.Last edited by peter42O; 07-15-2020, 08:51 PM.Comment

Re: Ghost of Tsushima (PS4 Exclusive)
Not going to quote you since it's a longer message, but I didn't realize it only ran at 30 fps. That's another reason I may stay away from it being on the console and hold out hope for a PC release at some point. I know plenty of people couldn't care less about frame rate, but I pretty much cannot go below 55-60. Anything less and I find it too jarring of an experience. That's part of why I also do not play console games anymore as well. That's personal preference, but anything less than a smooth 55-60 at the minimum makes me get a headache at this point.“No one is more hated than he who speaks the truth.”

I understand your point of view as im hoping for a 60FPS option next generation. The resolution mode in Tsushima is capped at 30FPS while the frame rate mode is 1080P but I don't know what the frame rate is. When Digital Foundry posts their FPS comparison and rundown, I'll post it here so you know.Comment
