Not going to quote you since it's a longer message, but I didn't realize it only ran at 30 fps. That's another reason I may stay away from it being on the console and hold out hope for a PC release at some point. I know plenty of people couldn't care less about frame rate, but I pretty much cannot go below 55-60. Anything less and I find it too jarring of an experience. That's part of why I also do not play console games anymore as well. That's personal preference, but anything less than a smooth 55-60 at the minimum makes me get a headache at this point.

They talked about it in their "review". Framerate mode is locked at 30fps. Resolution mode is 30fps unlocked with some dips. They recommended playing in resolution mode as the dips weren't too bad and the graphical hit wasn't worth locking it at 30fps.

Yeah, just watched the Digital Foundry video breakdown. On PS4 Pro, resolution mode is 1800P at 30FPS with minimal drops.

Performance mode is 1080P at a stable 30FPS in which there doesn't seem to be any drops at all. Basically locking the frame rate at 30FPS with no fluctuating.

Disappointed that it's not 1080P at 60FPS but not surprised. I will be playing on the resolution mode as the minimal drops aren't serious enough to warrant playing on performance mode.

There's some things out there peppered over the next couple of months, but its sparse for sure.

Yea this I believe Is the last major game till the nightmare cross gen type titles in fall.

So far though the game is cool. You start off ready to fight so they draw you in then you get to the tutorial part....

Get your timing down boys... There is also no traditional lock on enemies. Another good thing about that though is that you don't necessarily have to be facing the direction of an attack to block or dodge it.

I always love games that are a mix between fighting and stealth...which welve been missing a lot of.


I cut it off shortly after that though but there is definitely some fun to be had. .. and that cellphone footage was a washed out version even though the video was funny.

Not sure if I should buy this now or play it on the PS5 and the end of the year. Id rather play it in native 4k than the "checkerboard" 4k we have now.

How's the soundtrack/background music?

I have a thing for traditional Japanese music lol. It's soothing although I hope it doesn't make me fall asleep.

Finished the prologue which is a bit of an odd mix of quick cut scenes and gameplay but teaches you the basics of gameplay. Combat is harder than I thought it would be. Doesn’t take many hits to die. Have to be more defensive. Definitely can’t just spam attacks. Parry, dodge and blocks are crucial. Not sure when I should use the stab attack. I like the combat so far.

Gameplay graphics are fine but not as good as TLOU, HZD, GOW or other Sony exclusives imo. Some parts look good and some things look mediocre. The cut scenes look really good although the frame rate drops on the Pro (I chose Resolution over frame rate) can be bad at times. The story itself is fine so far. Looking forward to playing more tomorrow.

Enjoying the game but I have a couple of small gripes after only a couple of hours of play. The walking, running, moving animations are kinda stiff, the transitions from game to cut scene goes to black screen taking you away from the game for a few secs. And the enemy AI is weird at times. The animations, AI, and transition between gameplay and cut scene isn't on the level of TLOU2.
Looking forward to getting back into this game after I beat TLOU2.

That is the one thing I am having a hard time adjusting too. I am sure I will get used to it.
