    Re: 2018 Gaming Plans

Fallout 76 is all that is left for me if I like the BETA. If I do not like the BETA, I may buy Just Cause 4.

I played about 10 hours of the first Red Dead when it released, but I could not get into it. The old west setting just did not appeal to me. I am not buying Red Dead 2. I'm sure it is a great game, and Rockstar is a great developer, but it's just not my cup of tea. Plus I still have Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Spider-Man, and AC Odyssey to finish. And I'm hooked on Black Ops 4 and FIFA 19 too.

I didn't either because Westerns haven't traditionally been my thing, so playing a long single player game in that genre wasn't that appealing to me. Westworld definitely created much more interest in this game for me.

I've only played like a hour or so, but I can tell already that this game is exponentially more interesting to me than GTA has been. Maybe it will change as I play more, but this game seems more serious thematically with very little over the top wacky hijinks and that appeals to me greatly.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

        CURRENTLY PLAYING
        - Yakuza Zero
        - Yakuza Kiwami

Will be buying the two above games on Monday with each one being a story only play-through while im waiting for my pre-orders to get released. With work, playing shorter linear games is the way for me to go for November and possibly December. Depends on if/how much I like/enjoy Just Cause 4.

        COMPLETED
        - Spider Man (9.0/10)
        - Shadow of the Tomb Raider (9.0/10)
        - Assassin's Creed Odyssey (9.0/10)

        PRE-ORDERED
        - Battlefield V (November 20th)
        - Darksiders III (November 27th)
        - Just Cause 4 (December 4th)

It's been a very slow year for me thus far with only Far Cry 5 and God of War being purchased, played and completed.

Second half of 2018 is so much better but it still sucks that every year, from September to December is packed. So many empty months.

2019 though will be STACKED throughout as based on games with a release date, I have six games in seven weeks starting with REmake2 and ending with Sekiro. Super hyped and can't wait!!!

          Me either.

I love Western's but back then (~2010) I was only interested in NCAA & FIFA/PES.

I don't want to rush through this new AC but it's getting pretty hard to buy into the hype.

            Re: 2018 Gaming Plans

Now that the good weather is in the rear view mirror and it rains everyday where I live there’s plenty of time for gaming. I’ve done little damage to my backlog and all these new 100-hour long open world games aren’t going to help.

2018 Wish List -- Not Purchased

            Far Cry 5
            Detroit: Become Human
            God of War 4
            Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey
            Thronebreaker: The Witcher’s Tale

Remember when people said single player games were dead? It has been a great year. Hopefully, they’ll be some online Black Friday sales.

2018 Games Purchased or Free PS Plus

Red Dead Redemption 2 (PS4) Early Impressions: Amazing. I might just hunt and fish and never advance out of Chapter 2.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance (PC – Hardcore Mode) -- Level 6: Terrific game. It’s Skyrim without monsters based on actual historical events from like the 15th century. I like how at the start of the game you can’t do anything well like using a bow and arrow or swinging a sword. Instead you have to build up your skills through trial and a lot of error.

Star Wars: Battlefront II (PS4 – Soldier Level – Second Mission Complete) – I haven’t played it much but when I’ve played it I’ve enjoyed the online maps and the single player story.

Witcher 3: Hearts of Stone DLC (PC – Blood and Broken Bones) – Character Level 41. Touissant is incredible. It’s sun drenched, luxurious towns are such an enjoyable change from the rest of the gloomy Witcher world.

Football, Tactics and Glory (PC) –Bury (8-1-5, Third Season, Amateur League)– Stupidly addictive turn based soccer.

            Tyranny (PC) – Level 6
            X-Com 2 (PS4)

            Games Finished in 2018

            Assassin’s Creed Origins (PS4 -- Hard)
            – Level 49, 100 per cent. I’ve loved this series since the first Assassin’s Creed game but without a doubt this game dwarves the previous entries. I can’t believe the detail that was put into re-creating ancient Egypt, the cities, the gods and beliefs of the era. Balek is a fantastic character and he really shines when dealing with the children he encounters which conveys the pain of the loss of his own child at the start of the game. The setting is just beautiful in 4K and I took more photos in this game than I have in any other game. It’s the only Assassin’s Creed I’ve played to 100 per cent completion and one of the few games I earned a Platinum trophy. (10 out of 10)

Just Cause 3 (PS4) – 97 per cent. Who doesn’t like blowing up stuff? I think there was a plot about overthrowing a dictator but it was so weak it’s not even worth discussing. The star of the game, like so many games these days, is the open world setting which looks like a Mediterranean paradise. It was fun but very repetitive which is why it took me so long to complete it. (7 out of 10).

Witcher 3: Hearts of Stone DLC (PC – Blood and Broken Bones) – Character Level 41 – I finished this before the Blood and Wine DLC. It is an interesting story but it doesn’t open up a new area like Toussaint in the Blood and Wine DLC. The new runes you can put on weapon really didn’t do too much for me. I only added one to my chest armor. It’s a decent DLC but it isn’t nearly as deep as Blood and Wine (7.5 out of 10)

            Previously completed this year:

Witcher 3 (PC – Blood and Broken Bones) Character Level 35
Rise of the Tomb Raider (PC – Seasoned Raider – 100 per cent)
            Ghost Recon Wildlands (PS4 – Advanced/Expert– Level 30/Tier 23, 100 per cent)
            Bioshock Infinite (PC -- Hard)
            Battlefield 1 (PS4 -- Hard) – Single Player Campaign
Pillars of Eternity (PC -- Normal) – Act 3/Character Level 12

            The Backlog (tm)

Assassin’s Creed Origins DLC: Hidden Ones (PS4 -- Hard)
            Assassin’s Creed Syndicate (PS4) – Level 6, 27 per cent
            Far Cry Primal (PS4 – Survival – Hard) – 33 per cent
            Fallout 4 (PC -- Hard) -- Level 22

            Watch Dogs (PS4) – 18.6 per cent
Divinity Original Sin Enhanced Edition (PC -- Tactical) – Level 4
Sniper Elite 4 (PC – Snipe Elite Level – Finished Sixth Mission)
Dragon Age Inquisition DLC (PC) – Started Jaws of Hakkon – Level 25

Games I will never finish before I die

Stardew Valley (PC) – Level 4 Farmer
No Man’s Sky (PC) – Second Planet
Life is Stange (PC) – Not Started
Star Wars Empire at War (PC) – Lost my saved game. Darn
Sky Force Anniversary (PS4-Plus Free Games) – Level 7
Just Cause 2 (PS3 -- Experienced) -- 42 per cent (Completed main story)
Faster Than Light (PC – Easy) -- 72 Failed Missions
Ryse of Rome (PC -- Centaurian) -- 30 per cent
XCom Enemy Within (PC -- Normal)
Far Cry: Blood Dragon (PC – Medium) – Chapter 2 of 7
            Grand Turismo 5 (PS3) -- 54 per cent
Oblivion: Shivering Isles (PC) -- Level 30
            Crysis (PC) (7 of 11)
            State of Decay (PC)
Shadow of Colossus (PS3) (2 dead)
            Beyond Two Souls (PS3)

            Sports Backlog.

I’ve become awful at sports games.

            MLB 17 (PS4) – NY Mets (2-7). I think I’m hitting under .200
            MLB 16 (PS4) – Toronto (18-18)
            MLB 15 (PS4) --Washington (31-33)
            MLB 14 (PS3) -- Los Angeles (20-14)

            Madden 16 (PS4) -- San Diego (6-9)

            NBA 2K16 (PS4) -- Toronto (3-3)
            NBA 2K14 Be A Pro (PC) - First Season -- 29 Games Played (11-18, 12.0 PPG)

            NHL 16 (PS4) – Pittsburgh (3-4)
            NHL 12 Be A Pro (Xbox360) – 45 Games Played
            FIFA 16 (PC) -- West Bromwich (4-5-14)
            FIFA 16 (PC) -- Toronto FC (11-5-8)
            F1 2016 (PS4 – Medium) – First Race: Australia -- 17th place

Forizon Horizon (Xbox 360 – Medium) – 4.7 per cent complete
            Top Spin (Xbox360 -- Normal) -- Level 18

              Re: 2018 Gaming Plans

I've been so looking forward to the Winter 2018 gaming season and now that its here.... meh. I mean, 2K has taken a back seat because of the MyLeague problems and OOTP is OOTP, always there but its not that addicting game, and TGC2019 isnt THAT addicting either because im really just practicing for tour rounds or playing tour rounds at TGCTours. Those are the only sports games for me right now so I really just have Red Dead and Spiderman at the moment, and Spiderman I've already beaten so now im just waiting for all the DLC to be released and just playing RDR2 at the moment.

The two games I REALLY cant wait to play are The Division 2 and Days Gone, and those arent until 2019.

                Re: 2018 Gaming Plans

                I'm done for the year.

                Purchased in 2018
                Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite
                MLB The Show 18
                Disney Infinity 2.0
                NHL 18
                Shadow of the Tomb Raider
                Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy
                Injustice 2
                Spider-Man

MLB and SotTR were the only full-price games for me; the rest I picked up on sale. And I managed to resist Madden and 2K this year.

                Completed in 2018
                Everybody's Golf (completed tournament mode)
Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite (completed story mode)
Rise of the Tomb Raider (completed story mode)
Shadow of the Tomb Raider (completed story mode)

                Currently Playing
                MLB 18
                Madden 18
                Spider-Man
                Disney Infinity 2.0

                In the Queue
                Injustice 2
                Gran Turismo Sport
Rise of the Tomb Raider (DLC and finding what I missed)
Shadow of the Tomb Raider (DLC and finding what I missed)

                Backlogged
                Bioshock 2 and Bioshock Infinite
Call of Duty Modern Warfare, Infinite Warfare and WW2
                Batman Trilogy
Wolfenstein New Order and Old Blood
                Witcher 3
                F1 17
                Crash Bandicoot

Not much has changed here over the last year.

And for reference, from last January:

Thought about holding off, but it will be a Day 1 purchase. Right now, that's the only game I'm planning on getting this year.

July = South Park: Fractured But Whole
                  August = Assassin's Creed Origins

December = Madden NFL 2019 or NHL 2019

Looking forward to finally starting South Park tomorrow!
I pretty much stuck to my schedule...except I never ended up buying a third sports game, so I kept playing NBA 2K19 throughout December until Christmas before taking a break until the turn of the year.

I actually got over it to be honest (MyCareer Mode) so may skip it next year.
