Actually four to go. There are 5 islands that make up the main gameplay area, Isla Matanceros, Isla Muerta, Isla Tacano, Isla Pena and Isla Sorna and then the pure sandbox island of Isla Nublar, so 6 islands in total. And currently there are 42 species that can be discovered, plus more coming once they release the new content from the movie, plus stuff coming down the road in DLC.

There was concern about depth before release, but I'm not concerned at all. There is lots to do on each individual island that you'll rack up hours on each before moving onto the next. And the dangers start showing up as you move further into the list of islands.

Muerta has dangerous storms, so I'm imagining I'll be dealing with damaged buildings, power outages, and dinosaur rampages on the second island, plus trying keep my security, science and entertainment people happy so one of them don't go Nedry on me and sabotage something.

The first island, your only worries are the rare occasional power outage and dinosaurs breaking out of their enclosure because they're upset with their comfort and environment of their enclosure.

And even then, only the Triceratops and Dracorex have given me any problems by attacking the fence when their comfort drops into red, so it's not a widespread issue on the first island.

But yeah, as a fan of the series, and dinosaurs in general (who isn't fascinated by dinosaurs?), this game is worth every dollar for me.

I really should have just known that! Haha. The 5 deaths.

After seeing gameplay and reading everything from you, yeah I am not concerned whatsoever about a lack of depth coming from this game!

Overall it seems like this game is the ideal dinosaur game that you also get to build parks. So basically just truly is a Jurrassic Park game, and I am so excited for it! I am definitely going to eventually have all of the dinosaurs break free and destroy everything, but I am sure I will be many, many hours deep when that happens! Haha.

        That Gate! Great Idea!

        For you Smooth
That's awesome! I'm going to have to look into getting that, even with that kind of price tag.

And yeah, thinking about it, I'm actually surprised they don't have that gate in the game. That should be like the first thing added, that gate is instantly recognizable to even the least fan of the series.

Maybe we'll see that show up in DLC or something, I hope!

Oh yeah, I'm absolutely letting my first T-Rex go on a murderous rampage once I incubate and release him. It just wouldn't be Jurassic Park/World without a giant T-Rex roaming the park eating people, lol.

            Re: Jurassic World Evolution

So I was thinking, Matanceros may not be a lost cause in terms of wasted space and not being able to build any more buildings or add many more dinosaurs than what I have now.

Once I get Isla Muerta up and running and get a good steady profit coming in from there, I may go back and shut down Matanceros. Let the dinosaurs age out and die naturally but not replace them like I currently do when one dies, then close the park to visitors and go through removing all buildings, fences and paths, terraform the land outside of any dinosaur enclosures so that I have nice flat level ground to build on instead of not being able to put buildings down because there's uneven terrain like I'm dealing with now, and completely rebuild the island from the ground up.

Maybe I'll be able to get more stuff built on Matanceros than what I have now and make that island more efficient than it currently is, maybe even be able to actually get my facilities rating up to 5 stars rather than the 3 to 3.5 star rating that it keeps fluctuating between.

              Re: Jurassic World Evolution

I'm not very far into it, but so far my thoughts:

I love the voice acting from all the characters.. Jeff Goldblum is classic, especially he thoughts on one of the early security contracts.

Concerned about depth. Seems to be a common theme, but I'm a little disappointed looking at the tech tree and future buildings. Hopefully more comes down the line soon.

Game plays solid. Haven't had any bugs, and it's fun watching dinosaurs get released. The FPS mechanics when you need to tranq a dino are a welcome addition to management sims. I do wish it played a little bit faster though. The inability to speed up time, especially early on, is a bit of an annoyance.

Overall I'm enjoying my time with the game so far.

Free DLC today that contains the Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom update. We get 6 new dinosaurs and a number of bug fixes as well.

The free Fallen Kingdom DLC has just been released for Jurassic World Evolution, adding six new dinosaurs to the game...

                  Re: Jurassic World Evolution

Just started playing this yesterday on Steam. So far, I’m a big fan. It’s a lot of fun. Finishing up on the first island now and can move on if I want to. I had a Ceratosaurus escape its enclosure (my fault, somehow I missed a fence connection point obscured by some trees and she went right for it). Momentary panic when she broke out and chased some people before I had her tranq’d. [emoji851][emoji23]

I get the feeling it’s a slow grind game until I can get the most popular dinos like raptors or the T-Rex.

I had created 3 triceratops on the first island. Named em after the Beasties. They kept fighting and killing each other. Angry SOBs they were lol

Not going to lie all. I can't stand Isla Muerta. The terrain, weather and general comfort are horrible. I have to hang my head in shame and admit bankruptcy as I went in the red due to a lack of operations, resources, funds, and island attractions. Diseases was also rampant. Took this game for granted regarding the AI so I'm pleased to tell you to take care of things important first. This island will still be a challenge. I'm just over 13 hours. Probably spent 2 hours on Isla Muerta but going to have to restart.

But, before going back there to that scum of an island, I wanted to go back and upgrade my Isla Matanceros Park with a hotel and Sit Down Restaurant. You can see the hotel on the right side of the post card. Park has herbivores and carnivores attractions. It's now a 4.7 rated making millions.....

I too struggled mightily with Isla Muerta, but it rebounded in time. I'm still on the island and have not left yet even though I've unlocked the next location. I now have a thriving Velociraptor paddock and I'm in the black by millions. It was a rough go at first, though. The game really makes you work for it sometimes.
