Need your opinions on the Gameboy DS

Need some help. My kids want the new gameboy DS. I don't know much about it. Is it worth $150 ? x2 ... of course I have 2 kids. I don't see many games out for it. What do you think ? Ages 10 and 11. Santa needs your help.

As a father that has bought 2 of them,1 for my sons bday yesterday and 1 for my daughter for christmas,i have been playing his ds all night,it is very cool,the picochat,the touch pad,the software that can be developed for it in the future could be awesome.Stuff like software for surfing the net,excel programs,(then you could use it as a pda,and plays all the gba games.Yup hurry get them now,before they are sold out for christmas,you will be a hero to your kids.Hope this helps.

The DS makes the gba games look much better on a DS the resolution is better and the backlight makes a huge difference, the colors are really alive now.

Thanks guys. I'm still having a hard time dropping 300 for 2 of these things. There is only what 5 games out for it ? Man I wish they could wait till next year... I know I'll end up getting them, don't want unhappy children on christmas morning.

PSP is Sony's handheld. It has the better graphics, but the DS is much more innovative. The touch screen alone, and how all the games are using it is very cool.

True dat. And with Nintendos recent history, there is no telling how many 3rd party devs will actually make games utilizing the DS's technology. I'm holding off for a PSP myself.
