    EA Invests in UbiSoft Entertainment

    Acquires Approximately 19.9 Percent Equity in Global Game Company


    REDWOOD CITY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 20, 2004--Electronic Arts (Nasdaq:ERTS - News) today announced an investment in international game developer and publisher UbiSoft Entertainment, headquartered in Rennes, France. The investment represents approximately 19.9 percent interest in the company -- shares purchased as a block from Talpa Beheer B.V. to be completed upon obtaining antitrust clearance from the U.S. government. Financial terms were not disclosed.

            Which makes me remember when thinking of all the money they've spent in the last month, they dont just make sports games, EA has a lot of money w/out them.

                        You guys are misunderstanding this. EA made an investment in the company, they don't own it and don't have any control over what Ubisoft does.

                        "EA also said the stake did not allow it to exercise any control over Ubisoft.
                        "We have no control over what Ubisoft's management chooses to do with the company," said EA spokesman Jeff Brown."
