    Re: 2019 Gaming Plans

I fully expect I will love God of War as everything I've heard points to that. I don't generally like stuff in that time period so that's why I initially didn't pay attention to it.

Shadow of Tomb Raider was the sacrificial lamb as it was the game I played after my epic streak of games was over. Its possible I just had to high of standards at the time comparing it to others. I don't like puzzles and tedious things in games and it felt like the first few hours just had a lot of that going. I quit after some under water section where I keep dying. Maybe I will revisit it down the road since I did enjoy the previous 2.

I just finished chapter 1 of 12 for Judgement and so far I'm really digging it. I like that its not just a fighting game so the detective stuff makes it different. I did play enough of the free one for ps+ to get me a understanding of Judgment which was my main goal. I'm expecting it to be In that 8 out of 10 range and I like that the investigation is simple. My only complaint so far is I keep on going the wrong way on the map.

I agree with you in regards to Yakuza Kiwami (I started with Zero) but man, the story and characters is so great and even though the voice acting is in Japanese, it's still excellent and when the characters start getting angry or enraged, it shows in the voice acting. I do understand why it's a turn off though. Played and completed Judgment (8.0/10 for me) but it's 4th out of the Sega RGG Studio games that I have completed. Zero > Kiwami 2 > Kiwami > Judgment. I had more issues and negatives with Judgment than I did any of the three Yakuza games but I hope you're enjoying it as it's still a great game as indicated by the rating.

2019 was for me, an overall great year. There simply wasn't a "yeah, that's goty" like in 2018 where it was God of War or RDR 2 and that's it. But still a lot of great games and you could see that for many publishers, 2019 was a transition year as they're all getting ready for Fall 2020 and next gen.

I'm looking for a good open world shooter.... I currently have Breakpoint but looking for another to play.

      Any suggestions?

God of War is amazing. Hopefully, you'll love it. Can understand not enjoying SOTTR after playing classics. My friend had the same issue and quit it. Judgment is great and the investigating part is good. It's other stuff I had issues with but right in the beginning, so you have a ways to go.

Pretty sure you played it already but if not, The Division 2. Far Cry New Dawn is good and very cheap now but not as good as Far Cry 5 which isn't as good as Far Cry 3 or Far Cry 4. Another option but it's more like wide linear maps would be Remnant: From the Ashes. Also, Ghost Recon Wildlands if you haven't played it. These would be my suggestions.

I didn't play as much this year as I was renovating a house last winter and then played a ton of golf this summer. All I ended up picking up of 2019 releases were The Show (PS Plus gift), NHL 20 (Black Friday) and OOTP 20.

I also picked up Opus Magnum from Steam (not a '19 release) and played a lot of that for about a month. I think I played some Spiderman this year and definitely ran through a chunk of AC: Origins and a Diablo 3 binge.

Looking ahead to 2020 nothing new really excites me. I hope to eventually give Control and Outer Worlds a try. During the Playstation and Steam Winter sales, I've grabbed Warhammer Total War, Into the Breach and Gloomhaven, Witcher 3 and AC: Odyssey, and still haven't really touched NHL or MLB. I figure that, plus my recent obsession with Perfect Team in OOTP will keep me plenty busy until my first tee time.
