      Re: 2019 Gaming Plans

I finally finished Xenoblade Chronicles a couple of weeks back. I enjoyed it, but it served as a reminder that my tastes have changed and JRPGs are hard for me to stomach a lot of the time. I loved the world and exploration. I think the overarching story was great. But some of the writing and things devolving into "the power of friendship" irked me.

I have started playing Dying Light and Oxenfree. I actually finished Oxenfree and am doing a new game plus run since it's short and the way it ended, new game plus felt like a must play. I really enjoy these narrative driven indie games like Oxenfree, Firewatch, etc.

Dying Light has been fun. Not too far into it yet, but I like what I have seen and the concept of things getting really dicey at night. I have a genuine sense of dread when night approaches and if I am going to be able to make a safe zone or not. I am looking forward to diving deeper into this one

Recently been updating NBA Live 96, using the NBA Live 19 Hardwood Classics project as a base. http://https://forums.nba-live.com/d...il&df_id=10967

Just been working on attributes for guys on the 16 playoff teams from last year. Finally finished them and just set up the playoffs.

          Re: 2019 Gaming Plans

I have hit a Sports Gaming wall here the last week. I think I am truly burnt out right now.

It's time to take a break and focus on my non sports games for a while.

So with that here is my game plan for the rest of this year:

Finish up MLB The Show 19 Yankees Year 3 (currently in the post season) and then casually play the 1989 Texas Rangers Season with a play one sim 5 approach.

Play Madden 20 Dolphins Year 2 once a week (Sunday mornings)

Here are the non sports games on tap for me:

          Currently playing:

          Far Cry New Dawn
          Days Gone (starting tonight)

          In the que:

          Deus Ex Mankind Divided
          Assassins Creed Origins
          Spider Man
          Assassins Creed Odyssey
          Mass Effect Andromeda

I really want to tackle my non sports game backlog. And that will be my focus for the foreseeable future.

I am feeling like Sports games have really gone as far as they can on the PS4 console.
          Now Playing on PS5:
          CFB 26 Hurricanes/Fresno State Year 2
          MLB The Show 25 - 2025 Yankees Year 1
MLB The Show 25 1985 Yankees Year 1
          Oblivion Remaster

Same here, A&S. I'm struggling to finish the latest season in MLB The Show 19 and I have no desire to pick up Madden, NHL or NBA 2K right now.

I am very much looking forward to The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening on the Switch coming out in a couple of days. I plan on really diving into that as I never played the original.

Luigi's Mansion 3 and Fire Emblem: Three Houses are the other two games I'll get before the end of the year, otherwise it's diving into the backlog for me.
            Currently Playing:
            MLB The Show 25 (PS5)

Playing Madden 20/NHL/20 and NBA 2k20 the most right now. Finishing up Man of Medan and dabbling here and there still w/ MLB The Show and WWE 2K19.

Then of course Fifa comes out next week to add to the list

FIFA comes out tomorrow, already got it pre-loaded on the PC. Been playing 2K20 a lot, MLB The Show and Madden a little bit. Just started Gears 5 the other day. Really just waiting on Breakpoint.

Damn, didn't realize Disco Asylum was coming out so soon. Had my eye on that one.

Stygian Reign of the Old Ones looks interesting also.

                      Re: 2019 Gaming Plans

It hasn’t been a big year for completing games. I feel like I’ve spent most of my gaming this year riding a horse and enjoying the slow pace of Red Dead Redemption 2 and riding a horse and getting hopelessly lost in Kingdom Come: Deliverance (I’m playing on hardcore mode with no compass.) I’ve never gone for a horse ride in real life and maybe that's why I am enjoying all this horsing around.

                      2019 Wish List

                      Metro Exodus
                      Days Gone
                      The Outer Worlds

It seems like there have been a lot of good games this year but not too many astonishing games. There haven't been a lot of must purchases for me.

                      2019 Purchases/PS4 Free

Far Cry 5 (PC) – Completed 19 per cent
Steep (PS4) – Alps 18 per cent (Free Game)
Assassin’s Creed India (PC) – Not Started (Free Game)
                      Subnautica (PC) (Free Game)
                      Witness (PS4) (Free Game)

                      Games Finished in 2019

Thronebreakers: The Witcher’s Tale (PC – Bone Breaker)
I couldn’t put this down once I started it. I don’t think I played another game until I completed it. It’s mostly a card game in Gwent-like fashion in the rich Witcher universe. It has about a 30-hour story set on a 2d map which you explore to gain resources, meet new characters and initiate the card battles. I loved the strategy elements of the card game but be warned that the card game does not use the same rules from Gwent in the Witcher series. (9 out of 10).

Witcher 3: Hearts of Stone DLC (PC – Blood and Broken Bones) – Character Level 53
The gold standard by which all other DLC should be judged. With a new beautiful region (my favourite area of the whole Witcher universe), a chance to have your own home and an interesting story this felt more like a stand alone game than an add-on. A very satisfying way to end the Witcher series. If you played the Witcher 3 and not this DLC you missed out. (10 out of 10).

God of War 4 (PS4 – Give Me A Challenge)
                      Far Cry Primal (PS4 – Survivor – Hard) – 100 per cent
                      Assassin’s Creed Origins DLC: The Pharoah’s Curse (PS4 -- Hard) – Level 55, 100 per cent
Just Cause 3 DLC (PS4) Sky Fortress, 86 per cent; Mech Land Assault, 94 per cent; Bavarium Sea Heist, 100 per cent

                      Backlog Monster (tm)

                      Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey: (PS4 – Hard) – Level 8, 10.41 per cent
                      Assassin’s Creed Syndicate (PS4) – Level 7, 40 per cent
Detroit: Become Human (PS4) – Completed Four Chapters
Divinity Original Sin Enhanced Edition (PC -- Tactical) – Level 11
                      Fallout 4 (PC -- Hard) -- Level 24
Kingdom Come: Deliverance (PC – Hardcore Mode) -- Level 10
                      Red Dead Redemption 2 (PS4) – 84.3 per cent
Star Wars: Battlefront II (PS4 – Soldier Level) -- Third Mission Complete; Multiplayer Level 5
                      Tyranny (PC -- Hard) – Level 6
                      X-Com 2 (PS4)
                      Watch Dogs (PS4) – 25.4 per cent
                      Yakuza Kiwami (PS4 -- Normal) – 5.2 per cent

                      DLC Backlog

Dragon Age Inquisition DLC (PC) – Started Jaws of Hakkon – Level 26
Sniper Elite 4 DLC (PC – Snipe Elite Level) – Level 36

Now that I am about re-established in my new house (closing next week finally!), I think I am going to give Madden 20 another shot, with the kick meter glitch being fixed, and dabble into NHL 20. I will finally have my PS4 back.

For non sports games, I was about halfway through Spiderman and Final Fantasy X remaster, and think I will finish those up. Next, I may play another run through of RDR2, and break out a combo of Final Fantasy 7 and 9.

Being away from my ps4 for over a month now, I have a lot of catching up to do. Just got to find the time of course.

Overall, im thus far having one hell of a year. Except for NSMBUD, Mutant Year Zero: Seeds of Evil expansion, Ultimate Alliance 3 and Wolfenstein: Youngblood, every game has hit my 8.0/10 rating scale or higher. Very pleased with the great to excellent games that I have played this year. 2019 is also looking like 20+ games for the year as well.

                            Re: 2019 Gaming Plans

With 2019 coming to a close, I have some games I am currently playing or about to play.

I have stepped back from sports games for the time being but may actually pick an older one back up in NCAA 14 and play a new dynasty.

I am currently flipping back and forth between:

Horizon Zero Dawn: first time through, about 30 hours in and enjoying it.

GTA 5: my first play through. Having fun with it.

RDR 2: my second time. In chapter 2 now. First time through the game I didn't really focus on challenges and some other stuff. Gonna play this casually and mostly do extra stuff like lots of hunting, crafting, and probably play with low honor (opposite of my perfect honor first play through)

Greedfall: Getting in a few days then will fire it up ASAP.

NCAA 14: I have an idea for a dynasty and will probably pick it up as a break from other games. Still deciding...

Yes, there are a lot of open world games on here. I have a big back log and I will play one for a night or two then switch it up. Also, not all are kid friendly so that influences some playing time.

After these, I will continue to work on my back log list of:

                            Dark Souls 3
                            Assassin's Creed Odyssey
                            Spiderman
                            Final Fantasy 12 Zodiac Age

                            Then maybe replay:
                            Final Fantasy 7 and 9

But who knows, I am sure these plans will change.

Anyone else feel like their gaming just really went down hill in 2019?

Looking back at my prior posts in this thread. The majority of my "currently playing games", I quit after a few days, and most of the ones that I did play for more than just a few days are games that have been around for a while.

Games that I played for more than just a few days in 2019

                              Overwatch - No longer Playing
Destiny 2 - No longer playing
Diablo 3 - No longer playing
Final Fantasy XIV - No longer playing.
Total War Warhammer II - Still Playing
                              Beat Saber - Still Playing

All of the above were originally released in prior years. The only game released this year that I have played with any regularity, and even then much less than I have in prior year versions is:

                              OOTP 20

I was excited for a number of releases this year, several of which I purchased, but I just had trouble committing myself to them.

I dont play even a tenth of the games I used to play, but there are 1 to 3 I will play to get me through the year. and that's fine with me. Quality over Quantity is my new mantra. even if it dwindles down to where I'm playing baseball 12 months a year, I can now live with that.
