Re: Dreams (PS4)
Hey all!
Two sales right now for Dreams.
Standard 25% off.
Then for PS+ members it is $10.
Just bought it digitally since I had the physical edition! Much easier to "pop" in and play now.

Re: Dreams (PS4)
Just wondering, your original project was a single player game only. Will you be doing this project in multiplayer? Yes, I'm aware online multi-player support isn't yet ready but you can hook up a second controller locally and play against someone in your household. I believe up to four players is supported in Dreams.Comment

At that point in my progress I did create more 'things' for the bruce lee looking guy so once they release a MP update it would take me some time but would be possible to do. The nice thing about that game is they have different moves - my MT game will be MP-ready so that I don't have to regress and spend time making it that way - BUT - the 2nd player will have an identical move-set since he will be a clone with different coloured shorts, maybe hair too.
Once I get a little further along I'll probably ask here or in the MMA/Boxing forum for help with the controls since I like my setup for fighting fist, but the muay thai game has WAY more moves so I'll need to use modifiers and so on. It's hard to map to 10 buttons essentially everything I want and modifiers I don't like it generally so it's a necessary evilLiquor in the front, poker in the rear.Comment

Re: Dreams (PS4)
New updates and fixes released. The Audio Importer is the highlighted new feature though by allowing us to import our own audio clips!
Indreams.me Audio Importer: A new feature allowing dreamers to import audio from outside of Dreams into the game, for use in their creations. Head to our blog for more info. The importer also has its very own page in Dreams Workshop, where you’ll find the user guide, which has a full rundown of the features available and how to use them, and… AND… some handy how-to videos!
Say hello to update 2.22, which is mostly about the audio importer, but includes a few other small additions and a couple of bug fixes too.

Re: Dreams (PS4)
It was a feature, especially during beta but then MM retired it so they could I guess work on the kinks? I remember it was cumbersome so they may have simplified it with this update.

One thing I find disappointing is SO MANY dreams just redo or rip off existing stuff - to me it's such a waste of time. Why would I want to play your sonic when the original is better. I understand some people doing it but the remake stuff is the most rampant stuff. All of the things I think about and tinker with aren't pre-existing. I've dabbled in some batting practice stuff, and thinking about a multiplayer grenade throwing-only game, just as a couple of examples.Liquor in the front, poker in the rear.Comment

Re: Dreams (PS4)
no it's an issue, each dreamer owns their own intellectual property so it muddy's it - also since media molecule profits from the sale of their game with copyright material they are making $ from it (potentially arguable). Also dreamers themselves can be eligible to profit from dreams as well - they have a submission setup for that type of stuff.
This is MM comments from last year. It may have changed but I haven't been able to locate anything different. As you said, sounds like there maybe opportunities but it's limited to certain dreamers.
Media Molecule, the company behind Dreams, today released a long-awaited community update to address the question: “So I own my creation, what can I do with it?”
Media Molecule tells creators, in so many words, that you still can’t sell the game you made, but you’re welcome to merchandise for Dreams at your personal expense: “You can use your original creation for example, in your artwork or music portfolio, in a collage, or a design on your T-shirt—in other words, for your own personal use.”
The company followed up with an opaque promise that select creators can now apply for the opportunity to “use Dreams off PlayStation,” though it’s unclear how they’ll be able to “use” it. Creators will need to argue their case by proposing a project and a timeframe, provide a showreel of previous Dreams creations, and comply with a lengthy list of terms, which include allowing PlayStation to use their work for its promotional materials.
But here’s the rub: The application process is open only to people over 18 who purchased the Early Access beta version of the game. Those who did so signed on to a panoptic license agreement which grants Sony irrevocable rights to distribute and “prepare derivative works” of your material without compensation.
Due to an anticipated high volume of applications, Media Molecule won’t respond to rejects.
Creators who took a chance on Dreams, the new PlayStation platform which provides the tools for the time-consuming labor of constructing a video game,

It's an amazing piece of software though - not to diminish that - I'm currently frustrated though as issues are popping up with my stuff and I don't know why and it seems random like bugs. Some of that wonkyness makes it hard to rely on.Liquor in the front, poker in the rear.Comment

Re: Dreams (PS4)
Well, sounds like RareBird Games is the first to create a game in Dreams and take it the market. It looks either incredibly fun or incredibly stupid.....LOL
Seinfeld horror game created in PS4’s Dreams, Sinfeld Chronicles, is coming to PS5 with a new name: Sinfeld Remastered.
The game, originally created in Dreams, allowed players to walk through familiar Seinfeld territory. Jerry’s apartment was fully explorable, as was Kramer’s alongside several other locations, but the new Sinfeld Remastered has considerably increased the game’s content.

Re: Dreams (PS4)
You're invited to help finish a new game
Dreams creator Media Molecule has released the first three levels of a brand new experience for the Dreamiverse, Mega Penguin. To accompany the release, the studio has also cobbled together a launch trailer for you to feat your eyes on.
While this new adventure is going to provide plenty of reason to dive back into Dreams, it’s not actually finished yet. Media Molecule has said that it’s allowing the community to finish Mega Penguin’s adventures, providing a helping of essential assets to do so.
One small thing, though. Actually it’s a big one. We haven’t actually finished Megapenguin Rehatched yet. On purpose! We’ve kicked things off with these three levels – but, in the spirit of Megapenguin, we would like you to fill in the rest of the story and, above all, help us get Megapenguin back to his fleet where he belongs. What happens along the way is entirely up to you. We all know the Dreamiverse can get pretty weird: we’re sure Megapenguin is going to have quite the journey.
