Is the Yuffie DLC playable from the start or do you have to complete the base game? And do you need a save file for the Yuffie DLC? Thanks.

I started this game in July and I think tonight I'll finish it up.

The older I get the less I can grind out any game. I did the same thing with Ghost of Tsushima where I took extended breaks from the game and I think it's one of the best games I've played in recent years.

This game is so much fun. It was just late and I got tired last night trying to finish the end game and once I died and saw I had to restart on the bridge I realized I needed to just go to bed. I'm going to rethink my Materia strategy and give it another go tonight. It's looking like I will finish it somewhere in the neighborhood of 40 hours. I did a lot of the Wall Market side quests and Sector 5 stuff but I didn't try too hard to get everything done.

This is my only unfinished project before Battlefield 2042 releases Friday so the timing is going to work out really good. Anyways.. I have zero complaints about this game. I paid $0 for it and it's been worth every non-existent penny.

Need to come back to this and finish my Hard Mode playthrough. Want to go through the Yuffie DLC on Hard too

One of the very, VERY few games I actually have a desire to platinum. The combat is too satisfying

Pretty sure you can just boot it up regardless of where you're at in the main game, might help to finish the main story first though since they take place simultaneously

I haven't gotten the platinum trophy but I agree with you on this. It's very rare that I want to do what I need to in order to get the platinum. This was one of those games I see myself going back to at some point to get it.

The end of the game confused me just a little but but I watched some YouTube videos and read a few things about it afterwards and I think I understand... or at least I think I understand the possibility of what could be next.

It definitely seemed like Aerith senses Zack maybe in an alternate timeline at the end or they have rewritten history and he will be in the next next part of the remake? He was supposed to die at the hands of the Shinra Army IIRC. Is Biggs alive or is that also an alternate timeline we are seeing? It's still just a little confusing lol.

This game is welcoming to people who haven't played the original but there are a lot of things that aren't said out loud that you kind of have to know or figure out from past FF experiences. Some of the details are rusty even to me because I was 8 years old when the original first game out. One of them being that

Cloud isn't really a Soldier. One of the most obvious ones was the guy in the Shinra lobby recognizing Cloud or maybe Hojo making mention of his memories not being correct. You may not even catch that completely if you didn't know it already.

The one thing I'm still trying to figure out is

Sephiroth telling could he has 7 seconds? How does that tie into what's happening and if anyone has that figured out or maybe has a theory I would love to hear it because I'm kind of slow sometimes if things aren't spelled out for me.

The story around FF7 is really damn deep.. much deeper than I originally thought it was based on my own memories of playing the PS1 version. I don't really feel that worried about spoiling things I may have forgotten when reading about it because it's interesting. I spent some time last night before bed reading about Before Crisis: Final Fantasy VII which I have never played before.

Anyways.. great game that really gets your brain going. I'm glad I played it and I have some more reading to do.

Pretty much a lot is going on right now in the story lol

Main thing being that this game is really just a sequel, not a step-for-step remake. The whispers were just plot ghosts, they represented the fans of the OG FF7 that didn't want anything to change. But they want to keep people guessing on what will actually happen in the story this time around to keep the same thrill of the old game alive. Aerith may or may not die this time around. Barret got stabbed by Sephiroth in the tower and the whispers saved him and healed his wound instantly, if they weren't around he would've been dead before the party even left Midgar.

Now the plot ghosts aren't around so theoretically almost anything can happen. I'm really excited for what's going to come, I'm sure the majority of it will play out as it normally did. Wonder how open the game will be.

As for this, I want to say it's foreshadowing the biggest event of the OG game, which is Aerith's death. It could take Sephiroth 7 seconds to end her life, what will Cloud do with that time if he knows that Aerith kind of has to die in order to save the planet from Meteor. Once she was in the Lifestream she was able to use it to shield the planet in the original, who knows how she'd be able to do it if she were still alive.

My main evidence for them both having knowledge of the OG timeline (FF7 through Advent Children) is Sephiroth already shows up with the one-black wing, he was even leaving black feathers on the first bombing mission in the reactor. He was there playing the strings the whole time. He never had the black wing until Advent Children. This is post Advent Children Sephiroth taking over his past self in the OG timeline ****ing everything up. Right after the bombing mission, right before Cloud meets Aerith, he just says, "You can't save her, run away." In the OG game, Sephiroth didn't even remember who Cloud was until almost the end of Disc 1 lol. Then for Aerith, she always just knows more than she lets on. She's always about to say something, but then traces back quick. She knew exactly who and where Marlene was when talking to Tifa. She obviously knew everything about the Whispers as well as a lot of things going on in the story, because she had experienced it all before.

But yeah, with this essentially being a sequel, I think that both Sephiroth and Aerith know exactly what's going on, their remaining consciousness to the planet after Advent Children carry on into this timeline somehow and they managed to defeat the Whispers, their mutual enemy. Now they're both free to try and win the fight against each other without having to sacrifice so much to do so, but it's only going to lead to worse now. I love it lol

As for Zack, and Biggs (and possibly maybe Jessie?) being alive, I think it might just be a cliffhanger to get people excited, it'll probably be an alternate universe or timeline now with the Whispers and Fate itself gone. Their fates were previously all death; Zack by firing squad, and Biggs and Jessie at the hands of Shinra. Think it's just a teaser to show that anything can happen now in this Remake project story-wise

Part 2 news may be on the way next week; June 16th was not only when the Yuffie DLC released last year, but it was also when the FF7 Remake Project was initially revealed in 2015, 7 years ago to the day

I'm thinking we get Part 2 news finally
