this game has been amazing for the few hours I've put in to it already, have enjoyed it immensely, even if the installation and configuration of the game was a bit of a headache. the visuals are absolute stunning

Are you running high settings? I can’t get the FPS to show so I can see how it’s running. It automatically went to high settings for me. I’ll mess with it again when I get home

Even if the base tech is rough around the edges, it's an incredible piece of technology. There hasn't really been anything like it visually that I've seen in my years of gaming, and that includes flight simming.

The game definitely feels like MS put their foot down and wanted it out the door before Asobo had planned. They said every airport in the world would be in the game, but there are some conspicuous omissions that undercut this claim

Multiple aircraft have bugs and basic things like control surface movement that isn't animated at this point. Autopilot seems a mess across the board right now.

The scenery itself can be inconsistent--probably the result of crappy satellite imagery available for some areas, and lack of time to intervene and clean things up a bit.

I really miss my collection of big, nicely modeled and featured, third party international airports, and complex airliner addons, and so I'll still play P3D for that until MSFS matures.

I had an amazing flight in the Icon A5 earlier, where I took off from Eugene towards the Oregon coast. Early on I could see off in the distance as rain and fog started to roll in. Made a landing in the Pacific in the soup, and sat there in the water just enjoying the calm of the waves and rain, and looking out at the shadowy figures of the cliffs through the fog.

That all said, I have to circle back to what an incredible piece of tech this is. The VFR aspect in unlike anything we've ever had before. There's simply so much worth seeing in the game, and the views and sense of scale and variety is a generational leap for the gaming sandbox.

You can buy more prettier looking airports and the like. It's all in the marketplace. Game automatic went to ultra everything for me with my RTX 2080ti. Game is very pretty. Controls are hard though with a controller and keyboard. Going to need to buy a flight stick.

Auto pilot and telling my co-pilot to fly while I look at the pretty stuff is awesome. Custom flight plans and way points is awesome too.

It went to high end on mine automatically but when I fly a commercial jet in a big city the framerate suffers and it drops to around 25FPS. While on a cessna in the county side i'm getting 60-75FPS. Everything is on high settings.

Just the way it always is in flight sims. Airliner is usually travelling 2-5x the speed of the more basic light aircraft, and modelling a lot more complex systems. Has to load more scenery in less time and model more systems and update everything in less time too. Probably a bit of optimization needed too though since the airliners were added pretty late in development and seem to me like they're a work in progress.

Yea I think this game needs a little more optimization to be where it's supposed to be. Fun game indeed and crazy how time flies when playing this game lol..

Did a quick flight from my home towns grass runway up to Rochester this morning and I gotta say this game is running much better than I anticipated for a gaming laptop. Gotta fine tune the Xbox controller as the sensitivity is a little wonky. Also love the landing assists they give you for your approach. Definitely will be buying a flight stick in the near future.

I spent most of the day yesterday getting it installed on my two PCs and wow, it was not easy.

Someone needs to tell Microsoft that pre-load doesn't mean installing a 991Mb base executable and then on launch day downloading another 91Gb...that's not how pre-loading should work, LOL...

Anyways, hope to play this soon after all the work I've put into just installing it..

Finally finished installing last night about 1/2 hr after I should have been in bed. lol

Got 1 small flight in and man is it beautiful.
Game installed with High settings but haven't pushed it yet to see if I can stay there or not.

After today I'm off until Sunday so will get more time starting tonight after I get my flight controls all set up the way I want.

Yeah, alll on high settings, the only issue is when I land it gets a little choppy, but otherwise the game is just full on gorgeous.

I really want to play this, but am pretty sure my PC wouldn't even be able to load the menu. I'm rocking a 2013 era I5, and a 7870 with 16gb of RAM.

Took me about 35 minutes to download the 91gb thing and that was due to how slammed their server was because I downloaded RDR2 and COD both over 100GB in 10 minutes. Mad respect for the people who do manual everything. Engine mixture and all that, no thanks.

I keep crashing like crazy when trying to load in to a flight. I guess my settings are too high. It recommended high end. But dropping to medium fixes it. Gonna hve to play around with it.

Got an i7 9700K and GTX 1080. Gonna try and overclock the GPU to see if that let’s me go up any.

Game seems awesome though so far.
