Re: Attention Nintendo fans! The Revolution is beginning!

All I have to say is if Nintendo finnally decides to just make games for XBOX2 or PS3, then I'd be all over it. And I'm sure other ppl would also.

I think Nintendo is one of those old fashion companies who still thinks they're hip in todays age. Nintendo is so 80s. Mario is so 80s. Let King Koopa rape and molest Princess Toadstool for crying out loud. Hell, just let Mario die. Nintendo is living off characters and games from the 80s. Sooner or later, kids wont give a rats *** about Mario because they did'nt grow up with him like most of us did.

My reasoning for liking their new direction is that I wasn't going to pick up the new nitendo system anyway. And even if I ever do end up picking up the system it would be after the ps3 and xbox. But the only way that would happen is if it was a totally different system from the other two and would give me a new experience not just better graphics or some mario games.

Re: Attention Nintendo fans! The Revolution is beginning!

If Nintendo could buy some American company and get really serious about making GOOD first party sports games, then they will have a chance with this new system. If they put out a system when games from other system's can't get ported over, they will be completely screwed in a lot of peoples eyes without EA or Sega sports games. But get down to business and game some good 1st party sports games out, and the system will at least have a fighting chance(see the Dreamcast, without those sports games it would have died quite a bit quicker, but Nintendo will have better non-sports games than DC did). They will be in trouble without EA games equal to Xbox2 and PS3's period, but if they really are going with a completely unique system(giving up hope of getting EA or Sega to port their games), then a good first party sports line is a must. THey won't sell systems because of their sports games, but if there is at least some reasonable alternative on the new Nintendo system, some of the more casual sports fans might get a Nintendo based on their other 1st party games.

Either way, I think this will be Nintendo's last chance to prove they are still a major home console making company. They had the chance to merge into the Microsoft and Sony mold so they can get the same 3rd party support, but they apparently decided to go even further away from the big two, it seems like this is their last chance at the home console market.

Unless Nintendo can get some more third party developers, they're basically done for compared to Sony and Microsoft.

Re: Attention Nintendo fans! The Revolution is beginning!

I'm already deciding to buy the Revolution this article really got me hooked into about it. Even though the talk is early and no screenshots have been released, I would rather have Nintendo games be Nintendo games again. I think Nintendo will ALWAYS stay in the console market, cause there is that market of gamers who are crazy over them. I'll admit I did get rid of my GC to buy a PS2 than an xbox, but after playing their games alot, I realised I'm more into the stuff Nintendo provides.

Just recently got back hooked on the Gamecube and I'm in love with it again. I think Nintendo are such an underated company here lately. These Gamecube titles coming out lately have all been a joy to play. Baten Kaitos, Tales of Symphonia. Minus that junk from EA and their doing great in my book. I seriously hope Nintendo goes so far out of their way to make the console different in some ways that the titles for it will be exclusive.

If Nintendo had a system with better hardware and more unique gaming features than the PS3 and Xbox 2, third party support will be there.
