    Re: 2020 Gaming Plans

I have wrapped up Days Gone, Silent Hill, Gears of War Ultimate Edition, and Until Dawn as well.

I'm trying to get the platinum trophy for Until Dawn and then after that I am going to play a Call of Duty campaign (probably World at War) as a palette cleanser of sort. Next few games on my list are The Walking Dead Season 3, Dead Space and Assassins Creed (the original).

        Re: 2020 Gaming Plans

        Completed
Mafia 1 Remastered (9/10) - This is my type of game great story, solid gameplay, shorter game, basically a linear game. I loved 2 & 3 and this one didn't disappoint. Its one I will definitely replay again at some point next year. I think the trophy tied to classic difficulty could prevent me from getting the platinum.

Ratchet and Clank (7.5/10) - I borrowed this from a friend and the story didn't really grab me. The gameplay was fun though and I loved how it rewarded you for using guns. It served its purpose which was to get me excited for the new one. This was my first ever game I've played in the series.

Saints Row 3 (7.5/10) - I played the original one a little bit and never finished it. The story is not good and they were some bugs. However it was mindless silly fun so it killed a few weeks for me. Its hard not play it and laugh and smile because its so over the top. The side missions were fun and I really liked how you could buy business and get cash. I picked it up for $13 and traded it in for basically the same amount.

Spiderman (8.5/10) - This is my score for the 2nd play through which of course wasn't quite as fun as the 1st time. Its a fun game and the perfect length to replay again since I could just stick to the main story.

MLB The Show 19 / Road the the show (8/10) - I picked up on my save from last year and played enough hours to score it this year. I enjoyed my time as a closer and how it was quick to get through games only pitching a inning or two per series. I finally made it to the big leagues which took me a few years.

        Might Buy Soon
Basically I'm done buying games until I can get a PS5

AO Tennis 2 - It seems like one I'll never buy

Mafia 2 - I wish I could get it on disk

        Backlog
Sleeping Dogs - I was able to trade in my damaged disk then buy it back at a sale for the same price. I think I will jump back into the side missions and DLC over a new play through.

Far Cry New Dawn - I picked this up on the cheap with the delay of 6 I've got some time to finish it before the new ones comes out.

Strongly Interested in (not out yet)
PS5 - I still haven't been able to find one
Cyberpunk 2077 - I'll likely wait a few months to buy it looks cool
Marvel Avengers - I liked the beta, but I'll wait a few months
        Spiderman MM - Whenever I can get a PS5
NBA 2K21 - I'm anxiously awaiting my league news

Ghost Of Tshusima (9/10) - Awesome game that checked off all of the boxes with quality gameplay and story. The one negative I have is that it was long so looking back I might should have avoided all of the fox den type stuff. Its a really pretty game I looking forward to playing it again someday in 4k. Another top notch Sony exclusives that's easily in my top 10 games this gen. I've got a a decent amount of side quest I'll get back to at a later date. Its just a cool game about a culture that I don't know alot about.

Last of Us 2 (disappointed) - This is probably my biggest disappointment in games history after loving the 1st game. I didn't know how to rate it because i give the world and gameplay a perfect 10. It was the story that just didn't click with me. It was a wild ride with a ton of emotions.

Outer Worlds (5.5/10) - I have a rule where if I don't finish the game then I cant rate it over a 6. I gave up on this game after only a few hours. My biggest gripe was the lack of tutorial because I didn't understand the upgrade system at all. I had never played fallout so maybe they expected me to know what to do. I also died a ton on the easy setting which may have also been tied to the lack of upgrades. I need to give it another try I just don't know if I will since I borrowed the game.

Dreams (6 /10) - I'm not sure If i have played enough hours to really justify a ranking on this one. I did finish the main story and played around with the user creations for a bit. The story didn't do much for me. It was cool just looking around and seeing what everyone created. I just always found myself playing another game instead of it.

Star Wars Jeda Fallen Order (6.5 /10) - I know nothing about star wars and haven't seen any of the movies. The story and what was going on didn't really make sense to me. It was a solid game, I'm just not the one to be a judge on a star wars game. I knocked it 2 points alone for the one mission where you had to walk back to the ship that took me forever to know where to go.

Maneater (8/10) - A really good unique simple game to sit back and listen to podcast/music while playing. The story was better then I expected and enjoyed the boss fights. I ended up enjoying it enough to get all the trophies. How could you not have fun being a shark and eating humans/fish ?

Look at that backlog folks!!! That right there is the reason I am waiting a few years for the PS5 (even though I know everything is playable on the PS5). My only reason to upgrade is sports games. And quite frankly.....I simply do not see what will draw me in for a few years. MLB The Show is the game that will eventually get me to the PS5 side.....but I can wait for the system to drop in price for a disc playing machine.

            Re: 2020 Gaming Plans

A&S - I'm with you 100%. Not surprising, there. Glad I'm not the only one with a huge backlog! And, congrats on that World Series championship!

            Currently, I'm playing:
Madden 20 (XB1) - I'm in Year 2 of my Miami Dolphins franchise. Really enjoying how the games are playing out; I've seen a few defensive battles and a lot of close games. Sitting at 11-3, but honestly could be 8-6 or 7-7.

Madden 21 (XB1 & PS4) - Yes, I have it for 2 consoles and there's a reason for that, as one is located in the main living area (XB1) and the other is in the basement. Haven't gotten too far into either of my franchises here, and am likely picking a new team for the XB1, as the Jets were just not enjoyable at all. I'm 0-3 with the Giants on the PS4.

MLB The Show 20 (PS4) - In mid-May 2021 of my MLB 18 carryover franchise with the New York Mets. Playing 2-4 games a week.

Animal Crossing New Horizons (Switch) - Really only play this for 10-20 min. a couple of times a week, usually when the wife is watching TV. Enjoyed my time with it, but think I'm ready to move on.

Super Mario Odyssey (Switch) - Decided to revisit this one, as I haven't touched it since beating it right after it launched in late 2017. Just a fantastic game all around. Taking my time to explore more of the worlds in this playthrough.

WWE Battlegrounds (Switch) - Another game that I don't spend a ton of time with, but enjoy the pick-up-and-play aspect and is fun in 10-30 minute bursts.

The Witcher 3 (Switch) - I really enjoyed this game and was all-in on it, then lost touch with it and need to dive back in and try and make more progress on the main story.

Super Mario Maker 2 (Switch) - Another game that isn't a regular in the rotation, but will pick it up and check out levels that I'll see streamers/YouTubers play.

NHL 20 (XB1) - In Year 2 of my Colorado Avalanche franchise. Lost in Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final in OT to Pittsburgh in Year 1.

            Backlog Notables:
            Red Dead Redemption II (PS4)
            God of War (PS4)
            Assassain's Creed Origins (XB1)
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order (XB1)
            Super Mario 3D All-Stars (Switch)

Way too many other games to list. Yeah, I have no desire to move up to a new system when the ones I have play all of the games I own just fine, and I'm not upgrading TVs anytime soon, either.
            Currently Playing:
            MLB The Show 25 (PS5)

                  Re: 2020 Gaming Plans

With the PS5 firmly in hand, my end of 2020 looks like this:

                  Spider Man Remastered
                  Spider Man Miles Morales
Finish AC Odyssey and play Origins for the first time. Then onto Valhalla.

                  Madden 21 Bengals Franchise

Then get back to work on the backlog which is much too large to mention.

                    Re: 2020 Gaming Plans

                    I think I'm done for 2020.

Stayed true to my plan and avoided the PS5 for now. I'm sure there's one for me in 2021, but for now I'm quite happy with my PS4 Pro.

                    Games Purchased
                    • MLB 20
                    • Tekken 7
                    • NHL 20
                    • FIFA 20
                    • WWE 2K Battlegrounds

T7, NHL and FIFA were all purchased for $10 or less. T7 wound up being a great spur-of-the-moment buy for me. Love that game.

                    Games Completed
                    • Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order
                    • Tekken 7 (story mode)

                    • MLB 20
                    • Madden 20

Having a blast with both these games. No plans to get M21 and I'm hoping to hold out on MLB 21.

Hoping to finish up SM over the holidays. Going to take another stab at TW3 too. I get intimidated and overwhelmed by that game. I still need to finish the campaign on Battlegrounds.

Will work through the exclusives and then probably let it collect dust as is my custom. But RDR2 was really the only thing that was 'must have' for me.
Well, pretty much exactly what I thought was going to happen ended up happening. Played a lot of PS4 and worked through a generation's worth of backlog, and now for the last month it's been sitting collecting dust. Presumably with winter here I'll end up resorting to it again, especially as football season comes to a close, but my 2021 will probably end up looking a lot like my 2020 (video game wise...hopefully it's different in every other way).

Similar here. I got my PS4 Pro in 2018 just to finally be able to play new-gen Madden (17) after sitting out 13, 25 (I played these two only on old gen), 15 and 16. And until this spring I have never played other genre than sports on either PS3 or PS4.

But during spring pandemic lockdown in our country I somehow stumbled upon TLoU and totally fell for it. BEST GAME EVER PLAYED BY FAR. Started looking for similar games and now I have H:ZD, Watch Dogs 2 and Life is Strange awaiting their turn, bought Nathan Drake Collection (Uncharted 1-3) about month ago, already finished Drake's Fortune, will inevitably buy Thief's End and Lost Legacy soon, and I am strongly considering getting Days Gone and perhaps NieR : Automata as well. Maybe even RDR 2, too.

Oh, and I gave myself a Christmas present and finally bought / downloaded TLoU Part II Deluxe Edition from PS store yeasterday. And now I am scared as hell to fire it up because a) I do not want to know how the story ends; in my imagination, it can stay alive forever, and b) I fear I would not leave the room before I finish, work and family and whatever other social needs a person can have be damned.

                          2020 Gaming Plans

Red Dead 2 is simply an amazing game. You absolutely should play that. I dropped 100 hours into that over 3 months. I lived the life of a six shooter and totally got into character. I literally spent hours mapping out hunting trips to collect all the skins I needed plus I hunted and killed every single legendary big game the world had to offer. The story was outstanding too. So much to do. Tons of things to do. A masterpiece.

TLOU 2 exceeded the first game on many levels for me personally.

Days Gone is another fantastic game. The best IMO in the zombie genre in terms of open world and the story kicked ***!!!

Get Horizon Zero Dawn. Simply awesome.

I just picked up Ghost Of Tsushima for $40 and will fire that up after I complete Cyberpunk 2077. All I have heard is fantastic things about that game.

The PS4 generation has been amazing IMO.

Agreed. PlayStation 4 became my #1 all time gaming console surpassing the now #2 Xbox 360 with #3 Super Nintendo rounding out my top 3 gaming consoles of all time.

You're time management skills must be out of this world, Armor, otherwise I have no idea how and where you find time to play all these games + two different Maddens + Show etc. [emoji23]

Side note: I started playing HZD couple of weeks after I finished TLoU, but quickly realized I kind of got lost at sea and lost interest, at least for now. But I would like to go back to it one day and somehow finish it, because the sequel is going to take us to San Francisco which makes the game an instant must-have for me once I upgrade to PS5.

On the ps5 this is how the year end.

I no I am like a day late being that today is the second but how many ps5 games did you have to start 2021 counting astro bots? I am at 7. Spiderman mm, spiderman remaster, astro bots, watch dog legions, sackboy, immortals gods among us, the pathless. I have beaten astro bots, spiderman mm, spiderman remaster so far. I am pretty far on the pathless. I have not played a lot of sackboy or watch dogs and played a little of immortals but not to much yet.
