These in-game screenshots almost look unreal.

Haven't played Assassins Creed since Origins, not sure how many there have been but I will be pre-ordering this on the Xbox Series X and can't wait.-= Never argue with an idiot, they drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.=- Edward MurphyComment

I skipped Odyssey because I was burned out after Origins(plus no shields in that game) but I'll be back for this one.Jordan Mychal Lemos

Re: Assassin’s Creed Valhalla
Makes sense really, in my opinion. Most of the game, historically, should only take place in England. No real "Sea Battles" in Longships for example. If the game really is focusing on building your settlement and going on raids and such for supplies and stuff, then you really wont be travelling far and wide. Historically at this point maybe we could see Ireland or maybe part of France or Russia. Maybe they will expand the world a bit in DLC and such things. But I do think having a smaller world in this game will focus the gameplay.looks like it will be smaller/shorter to address concerns from the last game

Re: Assassin’s Creed Valhalla
I think they're talking more about the bloat. In Odyssey you had to do a bunch of side quests in order to level up so you could go back to the main story. With levels being gone in Valhalla there will be less of that THANK GOD.looks like it will be smaller/shorter to address concerns from the last game

"Gameplay." Lots of people are angry that they didn't really show any real gameplay today.Last edited by zello144; 05-07-2020, 05:07 PM.Comment

Re: Assassin’s Creed Valhalla
I'll be honest, the current trend for years now with trailers is very little actual game play. So this trailer really don't upset me, it is par for the course really.Comment

Re: Assassin’s Creed Valhalla
I really think that people see the "smaller map size" and overreact a little.
Odyssey was roughly 130 km^2. That was double the size of Origins (80km^2).
And Black Flag had the largest playable area, at 260km^2.Boston Red Sox

Re: Assassin’s Creed Valhalla
Ubisoft confirms the trailer was running at 4K 30fps. People are highly upset over it. Me, not surprised. You basically need a 2080ti to run things at 4k 60fps. These next gen consoles aren't on the 2080ti level., they are more like on the 2070 level.Comment

Re: Assassin’s Creed Valhalla
In my mind, there's no excuses for games to NOT be 4K/60FPS. Zen 2 CPU, far better and more powerful GPU, 16GB GDDR6 RAM and an SSD plus games like Doom Eternal and Rage 2 run at 1080P/60FPS so to not be able to get 4K/60FPS is 100% on the publishers and developers. Both consoles are much more capable than the current generation and it's not even close.
Plus, unlike PC's where there's a billion different combinations, consoles are fixed and games optimized to take full advantage of the hardware. Ubisoft is my #1 publisher/developer but play time is over. If Valhalla is 30FPS at launch, I will wait until the game drops to $30.
Bottom line is that if Ashraf Ismail and his team need more time to get to 60FPS, then Ubisoft needs to give them that extra time. I'm not jumping into next gen to still be playing 30FPS games. Time for that crap is done.
All these multi-billion dollar publishers need to step up their game, period.Comment

Re: Assassin’s Creed Valhalla
The hardcore enthusiasts will continue to scream bloody murder with every announcement of a 30fps game by a AAA publisher, but it won't matter in the end. The new consoles will still sell like hotcakes, and not being 60fps will ultimately not be a detriment to the success of any game next gen in terms of sales and/or revenue so many teams will not spend the resources necessary to crank up the framerate.Jordan Mychal Lemos

Re: Assassin’s Creed Valhalla
The GPUs in these new consoles simply won't be up to it to run all the new games at 4k/60fps. Like Skill already said, these cards are equivalent to 2070's. While you are right that the consoles will benefit from better optimization because of their static hardware, that benefit will not make these cards able to run newer games at 4k/60. Like he said, a 2080ti is needed for newer games to even have a shot at 4k/60 and they still don't do it consistently. There's no reason to expect inferior cards to do be able to do it even with the benefit of some better optimization. In my mind, there's no excuses for games to NOT be 4K/60FPS.
