Yeah I don't think I've seen a timed mission yet. I'm trying to think of what timed missions were in the last game as well. There is a timed one in Frozen Wilds I remember, but can't think of ones from the normal game.

I really think Travis Tate may be my favorite character of the series. His stuff is just so well done.

The only "timed" stuff that I remember being in Zero Dawn was the Hunting Grounds trials. Pretty sure nothing else was timed and I would think that Forbidden West is the same.

Question regarding a weapon you get to use at the end of the tutorial/prologue. Potential spoiler for early on in the game. Anyone know why im having this issue? I did change around the melee attack buttons to square and triangle but pressed every button while aiming and the result was the same.

Did anyone have trouble shooting the Coil Blaster against the Slingerfang boss fight that ends the tutorial/prologue section? Every button I press, Aloy drops the gun instead of shooting it.

I did not, but did you press L2 to aim before firing R2? If she gets hit while shooting she will sometimes drop a heavy weapon as well.

Yeah, I press and hold L2 to aim and every button I press, Aloy drops the weapon. She won't shoot.


I'm going to play later tonight and go back to the default buttons before the fight and see what happens. If the same issue happens, then I guess it's a bug.

It was due to me customizing the controller configuration but thankfully, I just fixed it to be the way I want and can still shoot those weapons. Barring any future issues, I should be good for the duration of the game.

I swear this game introduces you to weapons you need for certain enemies way after the fact. Also directly following the main quests will get you messed up. I'm following the main quests, thinking hey, I'm level 20, surely the main quests will take me to areas on my level. Oh no, it had me fight a wooley mammoth looking thing that was a level 35. I was like WTF..... After 30 minutes of trying, I beat it.

Now I'm going to go back to the weaker areas to farm for materials for I can level up my new weapons and gear some more. The snow areas of the map look pretty though. Oh yeah that wooley mammoth fight, game crashed on me 3 times fighting that thing. This was the only area where my game crashed.

There is a cannon on the other side of where you start. Fire a couple of arrows from the tall grass at the woolly's own cannons, making sure you tag them before battle. The brave with you will emerge and take fire. Head to the opposite side and grab the cannon on the ground. Once the woolly turns toward you blast away. It will knock it to half health then just focus on getting one of the cannons off ot it. I did it at level 21 and he went down fast this way. Aloy hints at looking for something to help while still stealthing initially. The cannon opposite where you start is the answer.

Got a chance to have an extended play session yesterday and wow, this game is great! Stunning visuals. I haven't noticed any hiccups in frame rate while in combat and the story is captivating from the get go.

Playing on my LG CX 55” and I’m just not wowed visually. I almost feel like it looks like a PS4 game. Loving the game itself but I was just expecting so much more visually based off what others have been saying.

Seriously? Playing on the exact same TV and HFW is the best looking game of the generation by far and I don't see it being surpassed any time soon. And if anything, the visuals are too much.

Honestly I think I have something on my settings that wrong. From what I’ve heard is the game looks amazing.

Are you using HGIG, DTM on/off?

May be a long time before I can beat this with it being a long game and I don't get a lot of time to play games between work sleep and watching sports and unfortunately I may have to work 48 hours a week for a month soon.
