After watching the showcase I see this is not for me. I am intrigued by the story though. I'll probably grab it on sale at a steep discount.

I'm in the same boat. I didn't have high expectations, I kind of put it in the Gotham Knights category I'm still holding out hope that Rocksteady will put out a next gen patch for the Arkham games to allow 60fps. Those games would really benefit better performance.

I restarted Gamefly the end of last year, so I'll just rent it when it comes out.

I don't know how many of you guys watch digital foundry, but their thoughts on this game were pretty darn scathing (John's in particular) in their most recent video. I have to say I agree with them/him.

The GAAS model has not worked well in a massive percentage of games. The combat they showed is decidedly bland (hold trigger to make health bar drop, upgrade to make health bar drop faster, rinse/repeat). And frankly, the words "online connection required" should not appear in games ostensibly built around a campaign (unless we're talking about a MMO - which is a totally different animal).

Honestly, even if this eventually shows-up as a free option on one of the services, I'm not sure I'd have an interest in playing it.
Play the games you love, not the games you want to love.

Just watched that DF video. I agree with their sentiment. I have never been into GAAS games. I also agree that it feels like a top down decision to approach it this way. It feels almost like the Avengers situation where they're banking on the studio allure plus the Superhero/villain allure to attract and maintain gamers

If it wasn't for Gamefly, I probably would pass on it completely. It's a shame too. I didn't come in with high expectations, but with it being about 8 years since Arkham Knight, to have it be a live service game is disappointing

I'm disappointed the game was delayed again because I was looking forward to playing co-op. This delay took all of my want away for the game. I guess I'll wait for it to go on sale.

That shouldn't prevent you from wanting to get it at full price as I consider the delay a good thing because it means there listening to the fans & working to fix & improve the game so it can hopefully have a successful launch....

So this could end up being a great thing...

It has nothing to do with me feeling like the game is doing to be bad. I have no interest in it now as it continues to get delayed. I prefer developers to delay a game instead of releasing it with a ton of significant issues.

In my opinion, this game is going to be terrible.

DC's version of the Avengers game.

Hope I'm wrong, but that would be a pleasant surprise.

Its like Rocksteady through out the playbook after the Arkham games and went towards, in your reference, an Avengers type game. I understand about trying to make money, but at the expense of your integrity and the previous games you have built, it is not the way to do it.

Now I am very worried. I seem to be in the very small minority that thought what they showed looked fantastic a few months ago and didn't understand why the hate at all, and had this has one of my most hyped games for 2023. I was even expecting a 90 metacritic score. But now I am very worried because late 2022 when the game was shown and we had the thing about how the founders of Rocksteady where leaving they said the game was finished. It shouldn't take a year plus to just fixes bugs. So what is going on? Also not like a year is enough time to completely change a game based of people's reactions.

Well, the future DCU will all be canonical with every type of release. Not just movies, but TV shows, video games, novels, the works. Maybe they're going to integrate things with the future DCU starting with Superman: Legacy.

Or maybe they're getting this out before they kickstart that universe. Not certain.
