I'm a bit confused right now. Doesn't this game come out tomorrow? The last post here was April of last year, really? I would think there would be more conversation leading up to the release. Suppose I'll breath some life, here we go!

I just feel going the Live Service route really hampered most of the excitement for the game. It felt like a big departure from the Arkham series to those who were looking forward to it. I'll give a try through Gamefly, but I'm not into those Co-Op shooter games. It feels like the same type of buzz that Gotham Knights had

I can definitely understand that. I was looking for a current generation Arkham style game as well. This one went further left field than Gotham Knights did, at least Gotham Knights retained the essence of Arkham to an extent. All Gotham Knights needed in my opinion was the combat/counter system from Arkham and I would've been satisfied for the most part.

I'll give this a try and see how it feels but I'm SUPER aggravated with the fact that they ditched the "soul" of Arkham. Speaking of Gotham Knights by the way, I wonder if its had any updates or new DLC, think I'll fire that up tonight and see what's new.

I purchased this, however, it lasted for about a day before I returned it for a refund. Had to fire Arkham Knight back up and get into some classic challenges! Hard to believe that rocksteady, the leaders of the revolutionary combat system of the Arkham series turned into followers and released a generic “looter shooter”. I’m completely confused 🫤

1 day isn't enough time to fully judge a game I don't understand people who quickly judge a game before finishing it no game is perfect & never will be. Just because it's a looter shooter doesn't mean it's a bad game..

You should have Gave the game more time I mean it's a very big game & very long you it would take more then a day of playtrough to realize it's true potential..

A day?!? All I need is a solid hour lol. Additionally, the game being a looter shooter has nothing to do with it. Remnant II is a looter shooter and I couldn’t put that game down for a second.

I'm disgusted by some of the endgame spoilers I've read, that's for sure. Thanks for the Remnant II mention. I just downloaded it and have been contemplating starting it.

                  Re: Suicide Squad Game

I have Gamefly, so I'll at least give it a try. I just don't like the departure from what made the Arkham Series so beloved. It seems like the higher ups just wanted to copy what was popular at the time and felt that the RockSteady cred and the Suicide Squad/DC Superheros would make it a sustainable success.

I would still love a Arkham Trilogy re-remaster. I know most are tired of the Remaster/Remake phase. But, I would love to play a modernized version of the Arkham game. For me, it really isn't upgrading visuals much. It's having 60fps/unlocked framerate. I tried to get back into Arkham City since it was on PS Extra last year and that was my favorite title. But, I couldn't get into because of the frame rate. Playing a game like Spider-Man that has a similar combat system, it's hard to play a game like that and go back to the Arkham games that are 30fps and not feel the difference

I just signed up for GameFly's Elite two game plan so I will give Suicide Squad a chance once they patch in an off-line mode. Game itself looks good and the combat loop seems to be enjoyable but the story, characters, writing and dialogue, not so much. And yeah, I saw the ending and that's all I will say.

The game is good. An original idea, using the villains to kill heroes, finally something new. My favorite moment was when Batman was attacking in the shadows. Because everytime I wondered how bad a man in a costume would be? Now I felt it on my skin, it was terrific.

But I’ll say from the start, the game is not worth $70.

Yeah, it shouldn't take 10+ hours to get to the good stuff in a video game. That's a huge time investment just to hope that you eventually start to like it. If something hasn't pulled you in within the first couple of hours then it likely never will, and I certainly can't blame someone for not bashing their head into a wall for hours until it starts to feel good.

I'm not surprised. Initially when announced, I was looking forward to the game and was okay when it ot delayed. But, when it was announced that it would be a live service game, I was immediately out on the game. I liked the concept of doing something different when having villains being the protagonists and killing the heros. But, Rocksteady going away from what made them revered is what turned away so many fans of the studio. I get they probably wanted to move off from the Arkham series, but they should've stayed with the single player story driven format. Hell, they could've still used the Suicide Squad concept and made it more of a story driven format. The fans made it known well before launch that they didn't like the direction and seeing games like The Avengers and Gotham Knights flop, should've warned them. You can't just bank on having a well received IP/entity and feel like you can go the Live Service model and it being an automatic success.

I still wouldn't want a remaster of the remastered Return to Arkham Trilogy. I'm tired of the remaster phase. But, I think those games would certainly benefit from being able to being played at 60FPS. Games still hold up well, if it was 60FPS, those games would be great

Gotta be one of the worst moves from a video game company maybe ever right ? They had a series loved by all even the casual crowd like me. Then they took a decade to make a game that nobody wanted and lost a fortune.

It just felt like it was a decision made by higher ups/Warners Bros to try to get a piece of the Live Service pie with games like Suicide Squad and Gotham Knights. I'm not a live service fan. But there's a place for it. It's just not for every gen. I just think the focus has become "how can we monetize this game as much as we can after launch" . I get how much cost of development has risen over the past decade plus. But, it shouldn't come at the expense of game quality

Both Rocksteady founders left in 2022 during development. That was a big sign things were not looking good. A big problem is all the execs like Zaslav don't play games and see Fortnite's success want to chase that thinking every game needs to be a live service.

I'm really disappointed this is how it ends for the Arkham series. They had so much potential. A lot of people wanted a Batman Beyond game, a game with The Flash or a Superman game in the Arkhamverse me I wanted a Green Arrow game. They had an opportunity to give us individual games with a hero and later have them all team up. I wanted the Justice league but not what we got with Suicide Squad. Just a normal game about the justice league fighting a villain or a huge threat is that so hard?
