APB was only their 2nd game ever put out, and it ate up 5 years and over $100 million dollars to make. Laughable on every level that this even got made.

Wow I didn't think the game would of fallen that hard because, it had a awesome customization system that was probably the best I've ever seen. Had high hopes for this game but, I'm glad I didn't spend my money on it. Hopefully the next GTA iteration has a lot of in depth customization because, I could imagine spending hours on something like that especially for online which really lacks customization badly.

Oh well, hopefully the creation of this game will be good for something.

I thought this looked cool, but I'm glad I didn't invest any money or time into it.

Well, it looks like the game might survive if has anything to do with it.

APB, the troubled MMO from Crackdown developer Realtime Worlds, could be bought by Gears of War developers **** Games according to a recent report.

Realtime Worlds announced yesterday that APB is to close a mere three months after it first released, and the BBC reports that **** are interested in taking on the torch.

"Mark [Rein] absolutely loves APB, and everyone here loved what they saw," ****'s Dana Cowley told the BBC before cautioning, "We've got our hands full of Gears of War 3, Bullet Storm and the recently announced Project Sword. If any talks like that are going on, then they would be confidential."

The ambitious APB earned a respectable 7.7 when it released.

Yeah, when I saw the character creation and customization tool I figured I'd get the game and spend the most time just playing with that. I just never got sold on the game play though.

Well it was fun while it lasted. I only played sparingly in the last few months but it was fun, especially if you had a good organized group to run with. Hopefully it gets picked up.

And the fact that you could sell the clothes you had created was also a very cool feature that I was into because, the system was so in depth. If I had bought the game I would of spent hours trying to make nike shoes, new era hats, and just clothes I really like. I was hoping this game would of had enough success to go to a console but, it's not looking like it.

Maybe **** games can do something with it but, at this point I don't think it'll get anywhere.

Edit: LOL and why is that word banned?

                      Realtime Worlds closed

As predicted, Realtime Worlds, developer of APB and the original Crackdown, has closed its Dundee studio after administrators announced it has failed to find a buyer for its troubled MMO.

The developer said in a statement that there had initially been interest from around 300 potential buyers but discussions finally focused on six - with **** games rumoured to be one of them.

Talks with those parties will likely continue over the coming days.

Joint administrator Paul Dounis confirmed that 50 employees have been served with redundancy notices, although seven will be retained on a short-term basis as business is wound down.

"After an accelerated diligence process the interested parties made it clear that the sale of APB as a going concern and 'live' operation is fraught with too many unknowns and therefore not a viable proposition, this regrettably means the closure of the Dundee studio," said Dounis.

"We very much regret not being able to find a buyer for APB and by doing so safeguard jobs. Every possible attempt was made to achieve this but in the end no one was prepared to take the game on in its present form, along with unknown problems which they might then encounter.

"We are now looking to try and conclude a sale of the intellectual property rights and platform upon which the game has been built over the next few weeks. There may then still be an opportunity to minimise some of the job losses. We will be continuing to do everything possible to this end."

CVG would like to wish those affected the best of luck continuing their careers. Thanks for the memories, chaps.

I think that's the lame joke. Some random words are banned, and people will always edit their posts asking why after they used them.

I just saw this post the other day, began reading about it and thought it sounded like a cool game. Then I reached the end and realized it was bumped because it was getting shut down. That's a shame.

I knew they did it for April fools but, I didn't think it they had banned words besides mostly vulgar language.
