This the ultimate procrastination tool.

I just played the beta for a couple hours, I will most likely be picking this up when it drops. I got through the Tutorial District and then spent most of my time in the Social district conversing with other players and goofing around.

At first it was just two of us talking, but as we talked more and more people started to talk and gather with us, pretty soon there was about 10 of us. We spent a good 30 minutes walking around the entire district in a single-file line. The line had to be at least 20 people long by the time we got the the other end of the map.

When we got to the end we decided to have a massive foot race back to the other end but it failed miserably since we couldn't all seem to go on "go".

This is only the Social District of the beta (where you relax, equip new items, change wardrobe), I haven't even gotten into the actual game (Action District) where you complete missions and earn cash/rewards.

the actual game part is amazing. they pulled this off in ways that I didn't think they could.

I've been playing the Beta all night so far. I am still unsure if it's worth a purchase or not. I am a little disappointed with the customization. If I want shorts as a male am I forced to have those baggy as hell shorts? I'm hoping more clothing options become available as you progress (not just the ones that are viewable now but locked).

Nevertheless if I had people to play with I would probably definitely buy it. All of my friends are 360 gamers only. They suck

This game is ridiculously fun. My 10 hours of beta playtime are almost up, but I think I'm going to pre-order it and get 10 more.

For those wondering, the game is basically GTA, except you can level up and purchase upgrades, vehicles, equipment, and content created by other players from the in game marketplace. The biggest difference is that 95% of the missions you do have other human players involved.

There are two factions: Enforcer and Criminal. As an Enforcer(the faction I chose to play as) your prestige(rank) rises as you continue to do missions for your contacts and you unlock new upgrades/weapons by improving your standing with each contact. As for the missions consisting of other human players... lets say you get a mission to retrieve an item, while you're trying to complete it a group of criminals (or a group of Enforcers if you're a criminal), consisting of human players, will be dispatched against you to try and stop you.

I haven't really unlocked a lot of contacts but as of now the missions are a bit repetitive. For Enforcers there are raid missions, attack/defend/capture missions, investigative missions, bomb squad missions, eliminate VIP missions, and some more that I can't think of right now. If you are leading a group you can accept a mission and the entire group can work together to complete it. If you're not in a group and you accept a mission you can call for backup by pressing B, which will then alert other Enforcers nearby that you need help, allowing them to join in.

I haven't invested too much time in customization because my character will be deleted anyway, but from what I've seen from browsing through the marketplace/contacts/stores there are a lot of things you can customize/purchase.

My only real problems with the game are that you can hear the opposing team while your on a mission, and the racist/inappropriate content being created with the symbol designer. I'm not sure if they'll be able to regulate that but I've already seen guys dressed as girls with penises drawn on them and gangs driving cars with Swastikas plastered all over them. Just a lot of dumb, childish stuff being created by these guys/girls with nothing better to do.

Other than that the game is a blast, especially if you can find a group with mics to ride and complete missions with throughout your play session.

Game looks like it runs smoothly. I hope they're looking into 60 FPS for the next GTA game, though I understand this game isn't as complex per se and only runs on PC.

It does look very good though. If I had a decent computer for gaming I would get this instantly.

gamespot is hell bent on keeping the 360 page for this. I feel like secretly they are trying to see if they can get it out on xbox even though they said a year or more ago that they changed from pc/360 to just pc.

at this point though, enough time has gone by that I'm just luke warm on the game...there was a time I was pumped but lots of impressive games have come out since it was announced and many more are on the way, so it's not even a big deal to me if I never get to play it.

So is anyone else getting this? Early Access began today @ 9AM est, I'm installing it again now.

I wanted to start a clique dubbed The Hateocracy. We could just go around hating on people and whippin' *** for no apparent reason whatsoever.
