It's the create-a-boss feature, basically creating your character. You can download it for free and create your character and use it when the game releases. Can also share it and use others' creations, and there are some crazy ones. There should be more variety when the full game released if I'm not mistaken.
I personally just want a regular character, it's not high priority for me. A living-breathing world, on the other hand is. Looks like it has the potential to be good and I think that dynamic day/night cycle is back.

That video makes me feel much better about the map. The game looks pretty enough and the city looks like it is done well. Should be a blast.

Agreed. I just wish they chose a different region. I feel like GTA V, WD2 and CP2077 all had similar setting with a south west city and desert around it. I realize this is not Cali, but I wish they went with a non-desert region, like the northwest, the midwest or east coast. But that's just me, I'm less of a fan of the desert, but still should be fun.
Anyway, there are different police units in the desert with different vehicles, so that's a plus.

Some of the creations are great, so many comics book/celebs/movie and game characters. Definitely gives you a lot of options for your creativity.

So, I loved SR 1&2.

3&4 we're absolutely not my thing.

I didn't want to look at gameplay before this comes out, but I stumbled upon a video yesterday, and that boss I have above is probably the only time I'll ever touch any aspect of this game.

The graphics still aren't all that amazing. Gameplay looks a little too over the top still.

I had such high hopes for SR to compete with GTA, but to me, it is clear they don't really want to.

I'll probably eventually pick it up and try this, but definitely not a day one purchase here.

I tell myself I'm holding off until Black Friday to get it but I know I will likely buy either on day one or first sale I see, LOL. Everything you say is true but I'm weak when it comes to open sandbox games of this nature.

Regarding graphics, most SR games were behind since SR2 and on. Just not on the same level as WD/GTA production-wise. But at least they took their time with this one and developed it for 5 years. Game gone gold a couple of weeks ago, I'm happy they delayed it by 6 months.

Game has mostly what I like, which has become rare these days:


Regular modern open world without zombies/apocalypse/fantasy - check

Gang/police chases - check

Car customization - check

Living breathing city - check? (Hopefully)
Lots of action - check
