Spent a lot more time in the "extra" areas than I wanted to but they helped a lot with leveling, I am at 152 now.Anaheim Angels - Green Bay Packers - Vegas Golden Knights - Washington Huskies

Re: Elden Ring
I'm thinking I need to be around level 155 to beat him which has me farming for runes on the mountaintops of the giants to level up (those giants and crows on the final portion of the mountaintop give up MASSIVE amounts of runes).
Final add on: Well gents, finally tapped out. Just uninstalled. Closed those curtains lol.Last edited by kingsofthevalley; 07-18-2022, 09:31 PM.Comment

Re: Elden Ring
Same here. I just looked at my time on......260:45:00!!!! Maybe its a glitch, but yeah, I've been tinkering with this game for a LONG time lol. I'm at level 148. Beat the Fire Giant a few days ago, just made it to Maliketh the Black Blade and been dealing with that stress for the last few days!

Beat Mohg, the Lord of Blood atSpoilerMohgwyn Palace
Certainly one of the most epic boss fights I have ever encountered, even though my library of "soulslikes" is not exactly vast (Code Vein, 3/4 of Elden Ring).
And the amount of runes you get from beating him is just insane.

Maliketh down, Malenia down, Dragonlord Placidusax down.
Malenia was awesome, but I thought Maliketh was a hair harder then her. I seriously thought I will never get through him. Placidusax was a piece of cake in comparison.
Can't imagine what Elden Beast will do to me given how impossible to beat Maliketh seemed at times.
Now on to the Capital of Ash.

Re: Elden Ring
Ok I hate to be that guy. But here is my situation.
I am getting ready to have major surgery and most likely be laid up for a very long time. I am having to cut bills and incidentals to get thru this time just to keep a roof over my head. I have PS Store credit and a PS4 Pro.
I am looking for ONE game that is completely and totally epic. Last for 100's of hours and is a once in a lifetime, world changing game to play for the foreseeable future. I want life changing epic. I want a game to touch my soul.
Really not being over dramatic. This is what I am looking for.
I have played Witcher 3 several times with each playthrough lasting 300 hours or more. I have Played Ghost of Tsushima twice. I love open world fantasy games. I have not however played any of the Souls Franchise. But have always been tempted as they seem right up my alley. I love lore and worlds. History and characters. I like discovery all of this on my own and not being force fed a narrative. I am a great lover of Outward and have played it several times as well. Challenge doesn't scare me as long as there is a method to it and a path to beat it and that path does not have to be easy to find. I will walk every inch of a map and find every scenic wonder and miniscule bit of knowledge or loot. I usually, if able to, turn off all markers on a map just to find it all on my own.
Last thing is I need offline and single player.
Is this game the one I am looking for?
Thanks for the help and guidance.Last edited by Bullit; 08-24-2022, 09:06 PM.In Loving memory of my "Cricket" 1/2/96 - 11/19/2012

The world is massive, diverse and rich. The lore is obviously deep. Some of the NPC questlines outside of main progress route are downright heartbreaking.
If you loot / explore enough, you should have enough upgrade and respec materials for multiple respecs, only enhancing the experience.
Game is tough, but has a myriad quality-of-life mechanics that could make your life less of a living hell if used properly.
It has its warts, though, too, and there are couple of game design issues I would tackle differently, if I was a developer, but other than that, the game's a no brainer.
Whatever the decision, though, best of luck with the surgery and, of course, recovery!

Re: Elden Ring
So, finally, the journey's over.
The final string of bosses are no joke. The Elden Beast looked downright unbeatable the first couple of runs. I wasn't able to get him/her to under 30-40% of HP up until what turned out to be the final run, where I was able to string together a couple of timely rolls and with no FP left, no flasks and maybe 100 HP on my own health bar, I managed to lay a couple of hits on him/her with my trusty +25 Twinblade, take her down, and unlock what I was aiming for the whole time, the Ranni's ending.
The ending itself, while beautiful as everything related to Ranni's questline, was painfully - dare I even say disrespectfully? - short. And I suppose it's the same with every other ending, which is a shame. I would think the gamers deserve a longer and more satisfying conlusion to the game for all the grind, suffering and difficulties they have to overcome to get throught the game.
Other than that, an easy 9/10, maybe more.
What an adventure...

Re: Elden Ring
471 hours.
(But I made sure, from the very beginning, to explore every corner of the map, every dungeon, every cave, every possible boss, every reachable area.
I also experimented with all sorts of weapons and outfits/armor, if only because some of them look sooooo beautiful and you go to such lenghts just to acquire them so why not invest at least a couple of minutes to see how they actually look in combat?
Those hours still might look like an overkill but I also obviously am not that great of a player either, still died a million times.
It was a grind at times, and there were one or two moments where the game really tested my patience, but in the end it was all well worth it.
I learned that there's something in soulslike games that just pushes you to keep going forward. You just don't want to lay down your weapons mid-game or when you feel like you're finally reaching the end, after all you've already been through.
Finished at level 196 btw, after spending runes I got from the final boss.)
