Just don't be sheep and buy the games at inflated prices. They'll go down in no time if you just don't buy them at those prices. You can count on most if not all next gen games costing $59.99 US atleast, all of Activision's next gen games will cost that, and now Sega's. I'll be more than happy to buy most of my games out of the bargain bin if this is across the board.
It's the N64 cart fiasco all over again. lol. I wouldn't take anything Sega is saying about EA's prices without a grain of salt, they could be saying that just to make their inflated $60 games sound better priced.Comment

Re: EA may charge $70 for next-gen games
Its all about economics. Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo have all said that they plan on losing 1 billion dollars on creating their next-gen systems. Why would you do that? because you can make that money up with higher game prices. Its not as riduculous as you guys are making it out to be. Eventually the prices will probably go back down to close to $50, but in the short term they can charge $70 because once you have the system (which you will get for a reasonable price most likely) then your demand for games to play on that system are inelastic (meaning that you have no substitutes or alternatives.) I would predict that games start at $70 for the first 6-12 months that the next gen systems come out. after that, the market will drive the price back down to around $50 where it has been stable for many years. You know, evil comes in many forms, be it a man-eating cow or Joseph Stalin. But you can't let the package hide the pudding. Evil is just plain bad! You don't cotton to it! You gotta smack it on the nose with the rolled up newspaper of goodness! Bad dog! Bad dog! -The Tick

Re: EA may charge $70 for next-gen games
$50 is pushing it for me. There is no way I'll pay more the 50-55 for a single game. This really has me considering not even buying a next gen system. Prices that high would push me to "mod" my next gen system and just steal the games. I have never "mod" a system but I'll never pay $70 for a video game. Prices that high will only help to increase pirating of software.Comment
