According to Bloomberg, less than 100 people are working at Bioware right now and they all are on Mass Effect. So pretty much they fired a little more than half of their staff because they had over 200 employees just 2 years ago. The last Mass Effect game they had 150 people working on it.

So yeah, don't think Mass Effect is coming any time soon.

Yeah I saw a rumor recently that Mass Effect was not in a place yet to justify a large team.

I absolutely love their IP's, and there was a time where I might have considered them my favorite studio. The reality is that the people who made Bioware what it is, a cult classic like Jade Empire or more mainstream titles like the first Kotor, Dragon Age Origins and Mass Effect, they were gone long before the most recent layoffs (designers, writers, and even the founders of the company). Not all of course, but a significant number of key people stopped being associated with Bioware long before DA:V would have been deep in production. Some retired, some founded or went to other studios. Which is not surprising considering that all 3 of those franchises had their first release more than 15 years ago, even DA:I was nearly 11 years ago at this point.

Finished the game at 90 percent completion on Friday night. I really enjoyed the game and the story. Some of the character side missions/check ins got a little long but I liked the team.

        Was a fun ride.

I think this is kind of why my interest has fallen off with the game.

The main story related stuff is really good but if you don't do the side character stuff I think it impacts the main story so I have tried to do it all.

          Spoiler

I think the PS says I have played around 40 hours of the game but I don't have a strong urge to keep playing it. I've enjoyed the combat but I've hit a wall on creativity with it and every fight feels largely the same.

Lace's side story stuff is pretty boring and Taash's storyline seems like it was built for a 12 year old. Honestly Taash is probably the worst of the side characters because of her story. I'm a 35 year old dude so I get things won't always be for me but some of the side quest stuff is disappointing.

Please don't take this the wrong way because It's not a huge deal to me but also if you're a straight male playing this game you constantly have to steer clear of a good bit of side character dialogue options because they seem to push your character towards a relationship with other male characters in the game. Just my feelings anyways.. It's not a huge deal but not for me really.

That steering for the same sex, be it guy on guy or female on female is why the game was review bombed. I recently went back to Dragon Age Inquisition. The world is just so much bigger, skill tree is deeper and bigger. Combat is better too. Now they had the same sex thing in that game too, however, when it came to dating anybody in that game, you had to work at it. Veilguard you didn't, every side character felt like sluts because you simply could just talk to them a couple of times and they were ready.

I liked Veilguard, however it just felt shallow and rushed. They didn't build up anything in the game to the point I didn't care about any of the cities or side characters. Also IMO they should have brought in way more cameos from DAI into Veilguard and actually let them join as a party member. At least then I would have felt some sort of connection.

Insane indeed. Not surprised though considering the game been on sale between $35 and $40 at my local Walmart since Black Friday.

Andrew Wilson also said some pretty LOL stuff saying it would have done better as a live service game, which is truly insane CEO talk. It clearly would have done even worse in that situation.

Doh!!!! Now this kinda aggravates me. Don’t get me wrong. I got my $70 worth. Played the game no stop…..almost 70 plus hours and finished it. But damn…..that is quick.
