I don't really want whole lot of high tech crap, I just want something that I can get the music off my computer onto a player so I can listen to it. Does the PSP hold alot of songs? Do you guys like this new feature?

PSP over Ipod?
I planned on getting an Ipod or some mp3 player but now that I hear PSP is just as good as Ipod, is it worth getting for that purpose? Of course, I will be playing games on it, but I am not getting PSP for the sole purpose of playing games. lol I stopped buying handhelds at Gameboy Advance. So if I buy a PSP, I would want it to eliminate the purpose of an Ipod.

I thought a 512mb card would hold around 400?Comment

Re: PSP over Ipod?
When you're looking for a mp3 player, next to its harddrive size, it usually has a estimate of how many songs you can fit onto the mp3 player.

Re: PSP over Ipod?
You'll barely be able to hold anything on the psp, at least if your music collection is as big as mine.Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

Re: PSP over Ipod?
it all depends on the mp3 size. You can get a 128 bitrate song that is 4:30 long that will be approx. 5 MB. But you can cut that down and use 64bitrate and it will be around 2 mb. all depends on the bitrate mainly.
and yeah, if you want this for merely music, it compares nothing to ipod. ipod's even the crappy ones hold 15 times more music than the max capacity of the psp. ( unless you carry around 15 different 1gb memorycards filled with music..... in this case you are at the level of ipod).
1 gb memory cards are roughly 150 bucks (but there so short stocked right now that they are going for 250-300).
You can buy two of those cards and be at the price range of ipods (350 bucks approx).
Its 40gb (ipod) vs. 2gb(psp and two memory cards is roughly 500), as far as music and price is concerned.Comment
