    Bingo.

To buy more than one system is basically going to double your expenses, which is fine if you are willing to put that much money into gaming and can afford it.

Buying two systems, accessories, and games is not an option for me, because I am not willing to spend upwards of $800 on everything required to thoroughly enjoy gaming on both platforms.

I will get the system that has the better controller. Currently I prefer the Xbox controller to the PS2 controller simply because of the location of the analog sticks. The analog sticks on the PS2 are somewhat of an afterthought and feel out of place when playing games that require the use of both analog sticks, it's main focus is the d-pad.

The Xbox controller was designed with analog controls from the start and it feels more ergonomic and comfortable with games that require 2 analog sticks. There were alot of complaints about jerky player movement in NFL 2k5 from PS2 users mainly because they were using the dpad for movement. It's more convienent, from an ergonomic standpoint, to use the d-pad on a ps2 controller for movement. Current games play much smoother using the analog stick for movement, the d-pad needs to be relegated to a secondary control method, changing weapons and what not, not player movement.

Both systems will have their share of exclusives and I seriouly doubt there will be a huge difference in graphics. If both controllers are good I would probably go with the PS3 because of the Blueray/HD DVD drive. If the PS3 uses the same controller layout as the PS2, I will get the Xbox360.

I'll be patient and wait for both systems to come out, the first round of games are usually nothing more than graphic showcases anyhow. I still have about 5 games I need to beat so I won't be ready for a new system till 2006 regardless.

ex Final Fantasy creators/developers are already making games for it, Tecmo, a former Sega developer, and the guy that made Rez all are doing games... sounds like a good start, considering all of them do well in Japan... Ubi Soft said they are making Splinter Cell and Ghost Recon for it. Sony, well its a given they have European support... since it a Japanese system... Sony could in fact struggle in the States since Online features are now a big thing, where MS has killed Sony in that department.
