Just picked it up... new for $29... can't necessarily be that bad for that price... I'll try it out a tad later.

        Re: Ninety-Nine Nights

Just finished the first level... a lot of it seems to be a really hack and slash type game... but I was having fun, and the visuals are stunning. I'll reserve judgement until I get a little further into the game. My men only survived at a 58% rate on the first level, so perhaps I need to go into "Fearless leader mode"...

My R6 guys will understand... :y4:

          Re: Ninety-Nine Nights

          It's official... I'm pissed off.

I played through the second level... took me 30 minutes to beat the level... didn't lose a freakin soldier... beat the boss at the end... MISSION COMPLETE...

Click A to continue... Dirty Disc FREAKIN Error... It took me 3 tries to do this level... and I get a freakin DDE right before I save it... My 360 is getting ready to go through the wall I'm afraid. It's getting ready to get a WHOLE LOT of ventilation when it's sitting outside on the ground, case in to pieces.

On a Happy note, the game is very lovely. The graphics are Great, the gameplay is repetitive, but a whole lot of fun. Defintely worth $29

Update... have played 2 more missions... am having a blast.

Yeah, there's not a whole lot of depth, but there are a WHOLE LOT of combo moves that you can learn. I'm having a blast. I can see a lot of people not liking it though. Nothing like seeing hordes of enemies running at you, and just dash into them and start clearing them out

Great impressions. Clear something up for me though...
I understand you're enjoying this game. Would you go so far as to say you're having a blast with it?

I would definitely go that far... I'd even go one step further and say "I'm having a blast with it."

Just beat another level... the stinkin thing took me almost an hour to beat the level... not ONE freakin checkpoint, lol... but that's alright, I demolished everyone. I'm getting good with the combos... I'm having a blast with the game :y4:

I have to say... I'm thoroughly impressed with the graphics on this game. I might venture to say its one of the top games graphically that I've seen thus far. The draw distance is really good as well.

I love being in the midst of a large scale battle, and rack up a 1300 hit combo... It's a thing of beauty. It's been a while since i've played a Hack n slash game... I have to say, it's something fun to blow off some steam.

                  Anyone else pick it up?

I had it, but traded it in towards MK:A. I was probably also frustrated by Goblin king >_<.

Here is to sequel with checkpoints!

YES!!! Glad someone else gets that. Theres a certain feeling of invulnerablity you get when you see waves and waves of goblins pouring over a hillside...its hard to describe. I think that feeling is the difference between loving and hating this game. Sometimes I order my troops to stay put, and calmly walk towards the onslaught...then do a jump move right into the middle of them and let the slaughter commence.

Maybe thats why there are no checkpoints. You gotta admit, Will...when your energy gets low after 45minutes of killin'...you really do get nervous.

Its a good game, but has many flaws. I had the game for a few days but returned it to Gamestop. I'll just Gamefly it now to complete it.

Oh yeah, no doubt... That's by far the greatest feeling man... just absolutely taking the fight to hundreds of enemies. Another is when you get your orb attack meters full, and just absolutely unleash while you're in the middle of a few hundred goblins. Here lately, I've been a jerk and made my troops stay at the first as well... they just get in my way, lol. I'm having an absolute blast with the game though TJ, lol.

Sorry for not playing last night Macca, I was just finishing the HUGE level w/ the first girl... It was insanely huge, and I was about 3/4's of the way through it. I'll probably be playing again sometime tonight as well. I want to unlock the other characters and play through it.

I actually like the lack of checkpoints. It really makes you work and counter all of the moves from the goblins. I take pride in having full health when I get to the end of a level to face the boss... and then just fully unleashing a major orb attack. It's frustrating when you die, and having to start over, but I'm still enjoying it.

And I know I said this earlier, but the graphics are absolutely stunning in HD.... I was blown away when I started playing.
