Any thoughts on a Mage/Warlock in Cata? I think I've narrowed it down between these two for my main Goblin since everyone and their brother will be either a Rogue or Shaman.

Mages do great burst damage, can port themselves and others and make their own refreshments.

I just learned that Warlocks now get their Felguard at level 10 I believe. That seems like it'd really make Warlock leveling even easier than before.

I think I am gonna fire this puppy back up today. I've been pondering it in my mind to do it or not for the last month or so.

My question for some of you vets is. I deleted the original WOW off my HD and am not sure what I did with the disk. I found my WOTHLK disk so i am good there. Do I need to re-purchase the original WOW? Does the new release tonight contain everything I need to get fired back up? Also will this new release only kick in after I get to a certain level?

Tonights release is basically goblin and worgen races , Azeroth flying at 60, archeology profession, and 80-85 content.

If you were to not get the expansion tonight, you would still have access to all the brand new content and world shattering that occured recently.

You wouldnt have to buy a new WoW box, it would allow you to just download everything you need for free. The new 1-60 content is amazing and almost like an entire new game all together.

My favorite class is a warlock personally, but I cant really say anything bad about mages either. They are pretty much the strongest class both pve and pvp wise. While a lot of classes have a complex rotation to manage to get the most dps possible, mages literally just spam 1 spell called arcane blast and top the charts. Pvp they have about 10 different ways to defend themselves and have Ice lance which hits for 18k each right now and is an instant cast.

You cant go wrong with either class. I find warlocks are more fun and challenging to play to a high degree, while mages can accomplish just as much if not much more by just pressing 1-2 buttons.

What's the new Warlock minion @ 50 and 60 since you get the Felguard at 10 now? I've never had a Warlock past 40's and never played a Mage til yesterday. Got the Mage to 13 and starting to really get into that class leveling as Fire.

I am not sure with all the new changes, but I know there is no new minion to be had.

I know they removed the Doomguard and Infernal questlines and give them to you as a cooldown pet that works every 10 mins though, so most likely one of those.

I'm having a good time leveling a lock right now. I've been playing with Demonology but gonna give Destruction a go. I don't have a ton of burst but am usually 1-2 on the charts in instances by a good margin.

Having Felguard early is nice, but I don't know what it was like without it, so I can't say for sure if it makes leveling easier.

Just a few more hours til' we're live.

I like that I have virtually endless mana. I have yet to go oom once. It's a pretty fun class.

I could kill 10 equal level mobs at once as a warlock and possibily 20 if I could find an area that had that many mobs. You run around and spam Corruption and Agony on every mob in the area you see, pop sacrifice on your Void for his personal sheild and just Rain of Fire the mobs down. This is what was called Siphon Life / Soul Link build before the names and abilities got changed around, but it still works ( just not as well as it used to ) Amazing class no matter how you look at it.

Looks like my account has been hacked/keylogged, etc. and temp. suspended. I am frustrated as anything and cannot get through to Blizzard via phone. I did send an email. When doing a search online this seems to happen way to often. I know some of it has to do with the users security level, but it just seems sucky.

Horrible timing with the expansion so you'll be on hold for awhile. I would order the authenticator key if you haven't already, only real way to prevent it from happening again.

Maybe the hackers will use RAF and you can get the full month free like I got when it happened

LOL I can only hope I got some kind of spiritual monk guy who hacked the account to make my WOW life better. Have been on hold for an hour. The sucky part is I really like the game so I don't feel like giving up.

I am going to order the authenticator, that's good advice.

You'll be restored within a couple of hours. If you have an iPhone or Android device search WoW authenticator and you can use that til you get around to ordering one online.

What I decided to do was /quit the guild and myself and 2 friends researched servers for a couple of hours and decided on Zuljin server.

We went to wowprogress.com and looked at server rankings for guilds and activity and Zuljin was #13 on the list and had a 1:1 ratio of horde / alliance. Most of the top 10 were all pvp servers and had about a 1 / .01 ratio so we ruled those out.

The reason server rankings matter is because it shows you the activity of the guilds and raid scene. Whereas on quite a few other servers there are really only 1 or 2 guilds you can get in if you want to see relevant content, these servers have many more options...so thats what I went with.

I love to play with friends, but with everyones RL schedule changing as we grew older, all of our playtimes changed and it was hard to keep in touch unless by facebook. The 2 that I still play with on a regular basis decided to roll new Cata toons on Zuljin, so I will as well.

Whats your toon name over there? I'll have to check it out sometime.

Barricadez again. Having a great time over there, tons of people everywhere. Really sucked when it came to questing in Vashj since darn near every quest is pick up some random spawn on the ground x6 and there are 40 people all trying to get the same item hah.

Tried logging onto it last night to create a Goblin and the que was almost to 1200. LOL Will try again another evening. Yeah I was questing with my 80 Druid on draenor and just said the hell with it after about 20 minutes. Not in a real hurry to take any of my alliance 80's to 85.
