As much as I hate to do it, I guess I will start from scratch again.

Any recommendations on what I should roll with? What realm are you guys on? I want to jump on a realm with some fellow OS'ers so I can REALLY LEARN how to play this game the right way. Horde or Alliance??? I prefer Alliance but at this point I just want to learn how to play the game right!!!. Can I transfer my 16 slot bags from my level 31 Mage to my new character??

Throw any advice my way PLEASE!!!!!!!!!

I think a lot of us are on Baelgun (?) with the Horde of One or Alliance of One. I have played through a few hours of both the Goblin (funny and creative) and Worgen (an old time horror feel) starting areas and both are fun. I do a bit of soloign so I lean towards the Hunter class. You get a pet(tank) from the beginning.

For me the Goblin area tied in very nicely with the Cataclysm storyline. You meet/see several of the major players in cata. The Worgen area has an interesting story event happen, but I liked the Goblin one a bit better.

BTW: I am Huulken (Tauren hunter) on the horde side and LarryTalbot (Worgen rogue) on the Alliance if you want to add me as a friend.

Just did a free character move from Thrall to Dentarg. Got tired of going to login every night and be hit with a 30-45 minute wait. Hopefully this server works out better or I'll be on the lookout once again for a decent server.

Off topic: Is Thrall a Alliance dominant server? I just remembered that I considered moving to there because Mal'Ganis' Alli ratio was every 5 Horde was 1 Alli

Nope, it's just the opposite. It's something like 22,000 horde to 3,000 alliance on Thrall. The server I transferred to is almost 50/50. Haven't had a chance to get on the new server and check out things.

Word!!!! This game is so addicting it's not even funny. My console gaming is in danger of taking a back seat.

Leveling is so much better now. Still grinding but it does not seem like a chore anymore.

80-85 seems to have cured me of leveling any alts for a very, very long time. I feel like I was demoralized by waterboarding after finishing my paladin tonight.

Since I am still a beginner I have alted a few races and classes to see what it's like. I am curious about something: I have read the shattering so many of the storylines taking place on Troll island or whom the Goblins rescue once they reach their new island make a lot of sense.

If you hadn't read the book would you still know what's going on? Would you still know who Thrall's lady friend is for example?

I haven't read quests (outside of one from the new zone Uldum) so I'm not sure how the new zones are for goblins/trolls

Just did the unthinkable on Monday and started playing again on Cata. Got my 56 priest (now Goblin) to 60 now. Levelling is nice and fast and of the changes I've seen, I'm enjoying it very much. At least it will tide me over until The Old Republic.

Thats what Im rolling now, it is pretty cool. I really enjoyed the Worgen starting zone and story and all that, its unlike anything ive done in wow until now. Its sort of like the DK starting I guess. Druids are pretty cool, Ive never really ran an alt passed like 20 ish, now I have a druid pushing 30 and a warlock at the same level, along with my 2 higher levels, its pretty cool. Ill say the mount at 20 is great, I remember back when I was running around at 39 still lol.

Yeah, I'm also hyped for a flying mount at 60, so probably gonna stick with that...want to get someone around 80 so I have a end game type char, but mixing it up is always tempting.

CC has already been trivialized if you have a tank that knows what is going on. Our guild tank is running about 170khps and by the rare chance we run a heroic, we just AE the place.

Pugs will have issues for awhile, but this expansion so far is more about the tank than the rest of the group. First few days I joined a pug and it seemed like the heroics were just stonewall hard, until we got a guild group in with a tank that knew the fights from the beta and we cleared all the heroics for achievs with only 2 wipes across all of them.

Tanks are important...I was running Stratholme yesterday with randoms and at first we had a completely horrible tank and we were dying a few times...then he left and we got a good tank and we just mowed through everyone.

I'm up to 52 now with my mage. It's crazy awesome how easily you can level. I've never felt like it was a XP grind, the quests give you good XP and make it more fun.
