Is cheese good or bad for you?
- some people say to avoid cheese because its fatty while other say it helps with muscle growth.
You can eat anything...just be sure to eat it in moderation. A little cheese is fine...just don't pig out on nachos every day. Also..if you can...eat the fat free cheese over the regular cheese.AUBURN TIGERS

Re: best way to tone up?
Im trying to lose weight, and hoping someone here could give me some specific advice. I played college hoops, but when i was done, i gained alot of weight, like many atheltes when they are done. I went from 210 to 265. I am now down to 243, but feel like i am stuck at this weight. I have reduced my calorie intake in half, but i dont have time to exercise fully at this time. I have pretty much 2 full time jobs, and a 2 year old son, so extra time is very limited. Also, after all the ball i have played in my life, i now have arthritis in my left hip, and im only 29. So, i have limited range in that area, as well as a lot of pain. I have been eating mainly small lean cusines meals with low calories, but like i have said, i am stuck now at 243, and want to get down to 215. any ideas for my situation."Basketball may have been born in Massachusetts, but it grew up in Indiana." - James NaismithComment

I'd suggest eating more small meals more often to supercharge your metabolism...and a "meal" doesn't have to be a full blown dinner. It could be a protein bar, some nuts and a piece of fruit, etc.
You HAVE to find time to get your exercise in though. 3 times a week of weights and 3-4 20 min cardio sessions CAN be done...it's just a matter of scheduling. Hope that helps.AUBURN TIGERS

And yeah it doesnt matter if you do like a thousand curnches a day doesnt mean you will have a ripped tummy matter a fact it will look more bloated(it will be hard thoe not soft) havent a ripped stomach is directly correlated with having a low body fat %.-JoshComment

AA, you're like....my online trainer. I can't wait until I get to college and stuff and have a gym availableto use everyday without having to pay for it, because I'm trying to keep in the best shape I can with what I have, but having a real gym to use will be a God-send.(Parents will pay for college, but if I want a gym membership now I have to pay for it and I don't have that kind of money)Comment

Re: best way to tone up?
AA, I have a few questions for you.
Tennis season is starting soon, so I'm going to be running a lot and doing a bunch of cardio. I think my diet will consist of a PowerBar for breakfast, water, a light lunch, PowerBar/Gatorade during tennis, and then a dinner (not sure what would be good here). I love chicken, would that be good to add in there for some protein?
I'll be running 5 days a week for tennis, and maybe 3 days of the week, I plan on doing some lifting, nothing major, just a few sets here and there.
I'm fairly skinny, I'm about 6'0'' and 145-150. If I stick to that diet and the workouts and stuff, would I put on some muscle? :y4:Blind to this impending fate

Hey AA who's the chick in your avatar.....(rimshot)
Anyways, joking aside, these are all great tips. I appreciate everyone's advice and recommendations. I've been drinking way too much lately and have developed a belly of sorts. I'm 6' and 180 with a slim athletic build so it just looks terrible proportionally. I'm definitely going to look into this.Comment
