I agree with that right there. Underground emcees are people that no one has heard of...hence the name underground...the unknown. PLENTY of people have heard of Murs and Atmosphere and the like...maybe just not as many people as you wish did.

Over 25,000 songs. I'm a mobile DJ and have been for 6 years. I have well over 1500 CDs. I ripped all of them a few years ago and am in the process of re-ripping again since I didn't know all the stuff I know now about ripping.

I only have about 1000 songs on my iPod and about 30 TV shows.

Ok, so maybe I'm the only one actually bored enough to do this, but let's see...

I was playing around with iTunes a couple minutes ago, and decided to see what the breakdown would be for my library by decade.

Here's the results of that:

1960s - 199 songs
1970s - 126 songs
1980s - 86 songs
1990s - 2679 songs
2000s - 6302 songs

And since around 1994 was the year that I really came into my own and started branching out musically, I figured it would be interesting to see the breakdown from that year to the current...

1994 - 266 songs
1995 - 343 songs
1996 - 312 songs
1997 - 395 songs
1998 - 416 songs
1999 - 601 songs
2000 - 827 songs
2001 - 973 songs
2002 - 1063 songs
2003 - 1007 songs
2004 - 1215 songs
2005 - 1122 songs
2006 - 95 songs

Total: 9392 songs

So, uh, yeah.

that's how i define underground.

That's too bad, because only about 20 bands/rappers get airtime, so it must be really tough to get out of the underground echelon in your book.

IMO, the amount of airtime one gets is a horrible way to determine whether one is underground or not.
