    Loose versus Lose

    Gentlemen, and ladies...

The differences between lose and loose are rather large. I do not "loose" games, I "lose" games.

Loose means to free or unfasten.

I've noticed this to be the most misused word. Spelling is correct but the usage is wrong. Also, this is not forum specific. I've seen it in many forums and emails at work. Sorry, just wanted to loosen my tie and speak out.

"Their" and "there" also is another biggie.

    So their! Er, there.

    Take care,

I see "weird" typed as "wierd" more than any other error.

Then there is the "then" and "than" issue... the people who do not use "an" in the proper scenario... and, of course, to piggy-back on PK's, we can't forget to add "they're" to the "their" and "there" issue.

I like it when people say, "I could care less."

I notice the "there vs they're vs their" one a lot as well. I think what I notice the most is good vs well. "He played good today," should be "He played well today."

Urrgh. That's by far one of my biggest pet peeves.

I would like for anybody to correct me if they see me spell something wrong. Some consider it anal, I may never know if someone doesn't point it out.
