Well, I'll hang out but I mean, college to me is just a vehicle to get into the real world, so I'll be doing a lot of work. When I was told I could get 155k a year if I could pull off a 4.0... that made me want to work hard.

Sorry to break it to you but even a 4.0 at Harvard wouldn't get 155k. People who graduate from Harvard law school get around that.

What the hell kind of career are you looking at if you expect 155k at graduation. Surely you aren't talking solely about an undergraduate degree. Maybe that much after a Masters or more, but on a Bachelor's? What field?

College is that, but you don't want to be the guy sitting at home every night. Trust me, my roommates were those guys. If you're responsible, you'll be fine. Obviously you don't want to go get ****ed up the day before an 8:00 test, but on Wednesday and Friday for example, my only class is 2:00-2:45 and I have no tests scheduled on those days, so it's all good. Just plan, but seriously you have to go out.

I'm not expecting, but that's the high mark for people in IT that came out of Radford. At least that's what I heard from the head of the department at orientation, so it may be a bit fabricated.

The best big law firms in NYC pretty much all pay 145k base. With bonuses I guess that could get up to 165 or 170k. I doubt any company is hiring IT guys for 155k.

So in all liklihood one kid got that, probably working for daddy's company. I know last year, maybe the year before, coming out of my law school a person got $500k, and I don't go to Harvard or Stanford. That was a fluke, and very well was someone at MassMutual getting a promotion for getting their JD, but for the school it looks awesome and they can tell potential 1L's look what the high end salary was, when in reality the average salary after this one person is removed was probably in the $60-70k range.

That isn't where my career path is headed, so I didn't really pay attention. I know the local DA's office starts at like $35k (laughable really). Hopefully I can find something in Springfield for a little more, especially with a baby on the way.
