Not to kill your optimism, but...my roomie at VT majored in Bio and received a 4.0, and then went to VCU and received his Master's in Forensic Science and received another 4.0
Then, he worked for almost a year at Toys R Us in Richmond while applying to every lab up and down the east coast. He finally hooked on with the VA state police in their Richmond lab.
As for myself, I graduated with a 2.3 in PoliSci (actually skipped class alot to work instead). Scored a minor league baseball internship a week after I graduated, moved onto sales, and now am the #2 guy with an area newspaper (making more than my dear friend in Richmond, although he gets to carry a gun).
My point, GPA doesn't mean ****. Good internships, good contacts, good work ethic (not classroom, actual real world work) is what ultimately matters.
Anyway, enjoy your time in Radford and make sure to pick up a Southwest Times.
