Of course we have hurt, but man just let it go. Yeah you had a long relationship and a lot of things will make you remember her, but time heals all wounds. I used to think I'd never get my ex's out of my head, but now I can't even tell you what they look like anymore, and one of them I was engaged to. Just getting sucked back into drama with that girl and her boytoy does nothing for you. Just ignore her, and if you see her out with him ignore them then too. You need to move on with your life. She all ready has.

I have been in that situation, I think everyone has. However, it gets to a point where enough is enough. I'm not privy to all the details but this saga seems to have been going on for some time now and you continue to get dragged back into it. How long are you gonna let this chick keep dicking you around before you cut your losses and move on?

I dont disagree with a word you said. For me its not being a part of the drama and wanting drama or even her back. Its more on my end. I have a hard time convincing myself that ill be alright. I just feel like Im not going to find someone that will make me as happy and comfortable as I was at points with my ex. Which I know is UNTRUE, its just hard to see it right now for me. I guess this whole thing has my confidence down and I have to try and fight over that.

My advice for your confidence level is...do things you enjoy, and you are good at. Attack the weight room, or exercise. Helps release all the hurtful energy you feel right now, and uses it in a positive way. Since you feel that way I'd hold off on even going out with a girl until you got your head straight. It will save you more heartbreak and heartache in the long run.

Kind of late for that. I went out last night with someone, but shes been a crying shoulder to the whole situation the past week and a half. She said she can obviously tell I need time, but she wants to go out again saturday and said take my time with everything and move slowly and if I want to be friends she has no problem, and if I feel like I can move forward and want to with her, she wont stop me.

But after our date last night, it was kind of hard. I didnt feel much of a connection although shes really a nice girl. We just have a lot of different interests, and views, which sometimes attracts but after a situation like mine, and I KNOW its wrong, im already doing the compairing.

The thing you need to realize is that you'll never have that level of happiness and comfort with your ex either. After all this drama, it would never be the same with her so it's best to just move on.

Agreed 100%, I am trying to move on despite what it might seem like. Its just the whole never finding that level of happiness is going to be on my mind despite moving on or not. I think thats normal.

Be fair to her then, and not let her get too involved with emotions, and keep it at the friend level.

She definatly knows. She has too, hell she questioned the look on my face yesterday and drug out of me the text messages I got from my ex and her boytoy. So while this is a new girl, shes very familiar with the entire situation. She claims shes here to "help me through all of this"

She says that but women love to find men who have been "hurt" and try and nurse them back to health. She might be a very nice girl, but you are all ready looking for ways to get out...when you haven't even started anything with her.

Well im not the typical "guy". Id have a hard time just having a rebound fling, and then go from fling to fling. Im more of a steady relationship type of person. And I could tell with this girl, while shes nice, and gets my mind off Jen, I dont see much of a long term future with her, and I dont want to hurt her especially if she gets attached. So saturday ill probably tell her just to be friends.
