Re: What the Hell is on Your Mind Thread

Classes like Digital Logic Design make me wonder what I'm doing as a Computer Science major. At least CS-201, which is more of a coding course, is going well for me so far.

We may get a new car today. A 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo, it is pretty nice, and I feel much better with my wife driving that vs. her Cavalier.

In other news, I would like to warn all that taking on an 18-wheeler moving at 35 miles per hour with a mountain bike moving at about 10 or 15 mph in the direct opposite direction of the 18 wheeler is not generally advisable and may be hazardous to your health. Generally if one is in such a situation, one should avert a collision as soon as possible, not at the last possible moment.

No, this isn't from personal experience, and didn't just happen, and I didn't nearly just die...

        I need more sleep.

A bit random, but thought provoking (to me at least)...

I've lost my taste for chain restaurants. After going to Macaroni Grill the other night, I just can't eat at places like that anymore. I've long given up on Outback, since they can't give me a decent steak period, and now I'm down to only two chains that my wife and I'll go to...Carrabba's and Texas Roadhouse.

Maybe my tastes have evolved to a much higher level after going to the local hole in the wall joints, with fresh made dishes and seasonal variety. Maybe it's the quality of food we make at home (my wife and I rarely buy premade stuff like pasta sauces or marinades), I don't know.

It's kind of sad though, since Macaroni Grill was the first place my wife and I ever ate at, on our first date all those years ago. We bailed on an MXPX concert and instead went out to eat and bowling (typical first date). I still vividly recall the sexy tanktop she was in, anticipating the hot atmosphere of a small music venue and how she modestly covered up in a windbreaker at the restaurant. Good times and memories over the years...now I find it highly unlikely that I'll ever attend a Macroni Grill again

A bit off the wall I'm sure, but just wondering what everyone's opinions on chains and stuff are.

They are a complete hit or miss for me. Around here we don't have a lot of chains, and the Commonwealth made more coming in impossible by capping the number of liquor licenses per county.

Johnny, I feel ya on the chain restaurants, even though I HATE texas roadhouse. Considering Knoxville has the most restaurants per capita of any city in the country (or at least they did a few years ago), I haven't really tired of any restaurants around here just because there is such a variety to choose from, although I am tired of the Applebee's/Ruby Tuesday/Chili's type just because they all offer basically the same thing.

Johnny I feel you on this, this isn't exactly the same but i'll relate it. There's a brand of dorito chips that you can only get in Canada and possibly the northeast US which is "zesty cheese" flavour. Now I LOVE this brand of chips and have eaten it all my life. Just, now I can't stomach eating it anymore. It's kind of a shame as i'd always snack on it when I can.

I feel like i've lost a bit of my life with this happening.

Can't decide what to do with Madden. I'm tempted to trade it for 2k but I really want to wait it out for the patch.

that'd probably work...after all that you're offering, Dookie would realize that how he felt before the Graphik treatment (a little depressed) was way way better than the lack of self respect and total disgust for himself he feels after being with Graphik

There's been six reporters camped out on front of my aprtment all day today. There trying to get a word from my neighbor about an incident that happened a month ago.

A 77 year old man was stabbed to death in my neighborhood on Saturday. It was in broad daylight on a somewhat busy street. Anyway, the guy runs in his mother's apartment and the SWAT team gets called...there's a big comotion over there. They take the guy away, and it's all over...or so I thought. Turns out this was the same guy who tried to stab my next door neighbor about a month ago.

So now I got a bunch of reporters standing in front of my door, asking everyone who walks by for a minute of their time. I talked to one last night and told her what I knew, but now it seems like they're trying to bring some type of racial angle into it. The guy was schizophrenic (for real for real, like 13 points bad) and wasn't taking his meds. It's that f'n simple.

English just got a lot better (see previous post about being surrounded my fat chicks). I noticed that "hot soccer chick" (see another previous post) sits a few seats in front of me, so now I just change my seat midway through the class and sit next to her.

I need to wash my car, I haven't washed it in a few weeks and it is nasty looking.

I'm working tonight, and I think I'm going to check out Test Drive: Unlimited.
