Bob and Carol and Ted and Alice all live in the same house. Bob and Carol go out to a movie, and when they return, Alice is lying dead on the floor in a puddle of water and glass. It is obvious that Ted killed her but Ted is not prosecuted or severely punished.

A man lives on the 26th floor of a high rise building. Every day he wakes up, takes a shower, gets dressed, eats breakfast, and walks to the elevator. He enters the elevator, goes to the ground floor, goes to his car, and goes to work.

Every evening when he comes home from work he parks his car, walks into his building, gets in the elevator and goes to the 13th floor. He then proceeds to get off of the elevator, climbs the other 13 flights of steps and enters his apartment.

The man repeats this process every day. The question is why doesn't he just go to the 26th floor when he comes home?

HINT: It has nothing to do with exercise, and the elevator is fully operational.

I'm going to take a guess and say the elevator only goes to the 13th floor. When he leaves in the morning he also has to walk down to the 13th floor to take the elevator.

How is he going to get off on the 13th floor when most buildings do not recognize a 13th floor? They normally go from 12 to 14. Just being an ***, as the midget is the right answer.
