Yeah, I think we've all sped a time or two in our lives but not 30-40mph, that's ridiculous and should be given a ticket. The only time you should be going that much over is if someone's about to deliver a baby or die.

You should come to NJ or FL, it happens all the time.

In any event, the statute # on my ticket is 39: 4-98 which is a 1-14 over and a 2 point offense. The other statute is 39: 4-99 which is a 4-5 point offense. Does that mean I'm only look at a 2 pointer?

Yes I know. It happens, saw a couple pulled over the past week. I got lucky before, but today wasn't my day. I've pretty much memorized where the cops would be, but wasn't paying attention at that moment.

I drive in NY, NJ and CT quite often. It's one thing to go maybe 10, 15 MPH over the SL but 30? Good for you.

Funny enough, I was in Traffic on one of those 3 lane highways with a curbed lane where people aren't supposed to go... and sure enough, people were driving up on the curb.

Once I got further down, I saw them all in a parking lot. There were cops further down telling all those drivers to pull over and they were giving them tickets.

Couldn't help but smile.

I have... in upstate NY where the limit was 65.

80-65 = 15.

It's a much known rule of thumb... did you know you can turn on red in most places too?
