Yeah, I've fallen for dumbells... so many different workouts you can do, and the results thus far have been impressive.

I'm definitely a fan of DB's as well, get those stabilizer muscles workin' too!

Yeah, the first time I did a complete dumbell workout, I couldn't really move for the next 2 days, haha. Now I have little muscles popping up everywhere. It's definitely a great way to get the ripped look going too, haha.

I'm all about the ripped look. I never want to be "stocky" and muscular. I'm 6-3 215 but if I asked somebody how much I weighed they would say 190-200.

By the way, this might be off topic but how much do you all hate squaters? By that I mean people who use a bench for like 30 min to do one exercise. I like to superset! It's a gym not a coffee shop!

The absolute best was today when I was in there on my lunch break. It took me 46 minutes to complete my routine (I use a stopwatch so I can keep track of superset breaks and total workout time) and I saw a guy do ab work the ENTIRE 46 minutes that I was doing my whole routine.

It's mind boggling what some people do in there.

Yeah, it's incredible, and those guys aren't working the support muscles, so they are in reality, doing nothing but wasting their time.

Re: For all you guys wanting to gain muscle, size, etc.

My problem is on what to eat. I have no idea what to eat to be healthy. Im 6'4, 190 and I dont want to gain mass or anything, I just want to stay in shape. The only workouts I do is run and play ball. I would like to be more "cut" but I dont know how to really do it, I have never really lifted weights hardcore or anything and have just done push ups, pull ups and crunches.

I guess what I am asking is tips on how to stay slim and in shape. Food, workouts, etc. Thank you

There was a recent study talking aabout weight lifting and time in between sets. The jist of the story was that taking 2-3 minutes in between sets was Actually more beneficial then taking 45 seconds to a minute, because the extra time allows the person to better fatigue the muscles they are training.

As far as workouts, do higher number of reps, with lower weights to acheive the "cut" look. As far as eating... I eat a pretty steady diet of chicken (skinless), turkey breast, almonds for a snack, fruits and veggies. I cut out all sugar drinks (pop, sports drinks, etc) and drink pretty much nothing but water and skim milk.

I've become pretty ripped other than the small section under my belly button.. which I'm working on getting rid of.

Well, I just got asked if I was taking steroids, lol. In a way, it makes you feel good, but in a way, I was like, what the heck? You know?

Anyway, interested to see if you all have stuck with eating habits and lifting. Chime in fellas.

I'm loving the HIIT training. Its amazing and really cuts down on my cardio time. Its also let me gain some mass without gaining fat. I'm naturally skinny, but I do cardio to keep the body fat off. I'm finally starting to get some arms too.

I'd feel good if I got asked that too. Unfortunately, I don't think I am capable of having huge muscles. As stated before, I'm 6-3 210-215 but I am lean. I've been doing my best to avoid sugar and I'm really noticing a change. Realistically, I think in about 2-3 more weeks my six pack will start to show through, and that will be the biggest thing for me. The bottom two have a layer they are hiding under, but I'm getting rid of that S***!

I love going to the gym. I lift 4 days a week and do some sort of running 6 days a week. Nothing more rewarding than seeing the changes in your body. Confidence goes through the roof. I'll admit I did but a sleeveless shirt for lifting. This is of course for upper body lifting.

I hope everyone else is doing well too!

Ha, I don't know if that's truly genetics because I think all males have that. It's certainly my nemesis right now.

I tried about three weeks ago to really eliminate sugar from my diet and be extremely careful to completely cut out HFCS. It's in so many friggen things you wouldn't expect!

Shoot, I'm not a big guy by any means. I don't know exactly where the steroid question came from. I'm the same build as you apparently, or at least from the numbers standpoint anyway.

Regardless, it's making me feel better about my workouts. How are you getting rid of the bottom layer of fat? That's the two of my abs that won't show just yet. I am one of the people with an 8 pack when it shows... but so far, only 6 are showing.
