Re: For all you guys wanting to gain muscle, size, etc.

I am going to start bulking up...4 day a week routine and such. My question is...what supplements should I get? I hope someone is well versed in this type of thing anyways.

I was thinking(mind you I am on some type of budget I'd say)

Fish Oil and ON Whey/Casein Protein+ Opti Men + Supreme Mass. But I am not sure if I should get Creatine or NO Xplode instead of SM, I was afraid of NO Xplode but supposedly it only has 100mg of caffeine. Or if I am missing something that I need along with this or something that can replace something here.

When I was attempting to bulk up I had no additional positive effects from creatine than I did with a high-protein diet. Creatine IMO is not necessary and with so many unknown health effects I would recommend avoiding it. Load up on protein, hit the weights hard, and eat, eat, eat. When in doubt, eat some more. Turkey and chicken are your new best friends. As long as you stick to the lean meats, you'll be bulked up in no time.

If you want to bulk up, drink as much whole milk as you can stomach.

You can't bulk up without adding some fat. Plus there's been plenty of research that whole milk is better for you than skim milk. The fat is needed to regulate the sugar.

Re: For all you guys wanting to gain muscle, size, etc.

Looking to start a work-out regiment this week and figured I'd hop in here since my main goals are to add more weight.

I've lost...~25 pounds this past year without trying to or wanting to, so now I'm about to start trying to gain it back. The two questions I have:

-Should I be drinking a protein shake or some kind of supplement shake (no interest in creatine or anything like that, though) after each workout?

-Are there any specific exercises I should look at doing to try and add mass on my wrists/forearms?

Get whey protein, and drink that after each workout.

Re: For all you guys wanting to gain muscle, size, etc.

I've been wanting to gain some muscle this summer, but I pushed it off and was pretty much a lazy bum. I'm 5'9 at just 120 lbs, so you can tell I'm pretty scrawny. I need to get stronger to play basketball as I get pushed around easy. I have decent footwork and handling to get by opposing players, but as soon as I get in the lane I get bumped all over and can't finish. I'm having trouble gaining weight because I've been between 120-125 for a couple months. I know I need to gain weight to be able to build up some muscle, but the thing is, I'm having problems gaining weight. I eat about 5 meals a day and stay about the same weight.

I just turned 16 and I want to make it on my high school team really bad. I have great cardio since I do cross country and track, but I can't handle being bumped down low.

Anybody can gain weight just some have to work at it more than others. I'm 5'9 and I weighed 130-135 after my sophomore year in college. I'm a little above 160 now. But it takes a lot of effort. Can't skip meals, and you need healthy snacks, and a lot of protein. If your trying to lose weight and you have a great diet for 6 days a week, and then you completely pig out on the 7th day, you basically just killed your progress. It's the same with trying to gain weight, if I go one day where I barely eat anything it has a big impact. It's not impossible but it does take work.

I'm 5'6, in the past 5 to 6 months I have lost roughly 50-60 pounds without trying to. I now weigh around 125-130 and everybody in my family notices the change fast.

I have bad habits one which I've managed to stop, drinking & another im hoping to stop, smoking cigs.

I eat mostly fast food as my only meal of the day, due to not being up during the am & snack on chips or cookies throughout the day. I need to eat healthier and more.

I would like to stay away from going to my local gym and any type of pills.

What would help me gain weight and muscle?

How do I go about getting more cut?

How do you expect to make muscle gains without going to the gym? If you do pushups and pullups you can make mild gains I suppose.

I have a lot of trouble with this. I'm 19 years old and 6'4" 170.

I play basketball and run so much that I just can't put on weight. (Usually exercise/play 3-5 hours a day) I ate about 3,500 calories yesterday and lost weight.
