Well kinda hit a roadblock today in terms of maxing...I hit 355 on deadlift using the belt but any other lifts just felt like crap...either its the actually being sick or the havent worked out in awhile thing is just getting to me... I may have to readjust my goals...

Well try bench, squat, and incline tommorrow and see how it goes...the way im feeling right now ill prob be lower than my maxes in march.

Re: For all you guys wanting to gain muscle, size, etc.

From my experience, I didnt gain weight and add significant strength until my senior year of high school.

Maybe it was a hormone thing, but I worked out year round for baseball and football during my first 3 years and had minimal results.

I could bench maybe 155 as a junior and now I can rep 225 20 times no problem. And I havent really put on alot of weight either, I have been between 170-195 since I was 15. I guess your body will just tell u when its ready.

I'm 5'9", 152 lbs myself. I've got a decent look as far as being lean and muscular, but I wouldn't mind putting on a few pounds of muscle. Ideally, I think I should be up around 160-165. Probably need to start eating more. I'm gonna try a clean bulk.

            That's close to me, 5'8" about 150.

But last May I weighed 135. By the end of last summer I was very close to 150.

I've basically been stuck at around 150 since. Sometimes a little higher, sometimes a little lower. I try to eat a lot but it's tough.

I've made pretty consistent progress getting stronger, and looking more muscular, and I care more about that then weight, but I'd still like to add some pounds.

I have gotten stronger, though. My bench before I started lifting was like 75, and now I'm at 135 and I've only been going for a month and a half...definition is there, weight is not.
How many calories do you eat a day (be honest)? Eating good healthy food is a better option in the long run, and it's not hard to gain weight that way either.

Haha. Same here. I was actually 145 a few years ago, so I have put on a good 7-8 pounds of muscle lately. Now I just want to take it to the next level w/o getting too huge because with my relatively small frame, I think I'd look silly if I was totally jacked.

Re: For all you guys wanting to gain muscle, size, etc.

Wow i just read this on the bodybuilding.com forums:

This month's Muscular Development commented on a study that was performed at Dartmouth University where they interviewed over 800 students as to their sexual preferences.

Females said they would rather have sexual intercourse with a person in a wheelchair, a man shorter than them, another woman, a man with an STD (if he wore a condom), a convicted felon (not a child molester or rapist), or unprotected casual sex over having sexual intercourse with an obese man.

Men's choices weren't quite as bad. We didn't put fat girls quite as far down the list, but males treat casual sex with overweight females as kind of a use them and toss them mentality. So let's face it.........................we're pigs.

It's amazing to me that obesity is shunned so heavily by our society, yet so many Americans are obese.
So basically if you are fat you have next to no hope with women. The world can be a shallow place.....

BTW TMagic do you think sat fats have any place in a traditional diet? Or should we limit this and stick to unsat fats?
Like you said limit them and stick to the unsaturated fats.

I have not heard, learned, or read anything that promotes saturated fat in the diet.

If you have, then I'd like to see the article that does.

2000+...depends on the day. Last month I didn't get to that mark often because I had no permanent home, meaning no dinner or snack food or anything, and I didn't want to blow all of my money on fast food.

You need about 2000 to maintain your weight with your fast metabolism, add 300-500 more calories to your intake and see if you gain.

Yeah mate that is way to low for someone trying to gain weight. I'd suggest 3000-4000 of good healthy food (lots of oatmeal, chicken, beef, fish, eggs and natural peanut butter etc) and a solid 4-5 days per week weight lifting routine with very little if any cardio. For someone like you there's no escaping the old adage: you have to eat big to get big.

Man i'd love to have your problem, i serious feel like i put on fat if i even drive past a KFC let alone eat the stuff!

Maybe it's shallow, but I also think it's biology. Let's face it; fat is not attractive. It's just a natural reaction that people have.

This is interesting, though. I saw a lot of good-looking girls at a Memorial Day Weekend get-together who were with guys that weren't exactly good-looking or in great shape. They weren't obese, but they were definitely on the overweight/pudgy side. I think women are far more likely/willing to trade down looks-wise than men are. Think about it; when is the last time you saw a really good-looking guy with a fat/ugly girl?

You know you are probably right when i think about it. It's not uncommon to see a hot girl with an average guy and you are thinking "how the hell did he manage that!" then the other way round.
