Well guys, I just ordered the P90X package, so I really hope I made a good purchase. It looks like it, but whenever you drop that much cash you want to feel certainI post the frog

Re: For all you guys wanting to gain muscle, size, etc.
Here's the bottom line: you get out of it what you put into it. It's really that simple. I found trying to beat my previous reps (or adding weight) on each of the exercises really helped. You have to make it a commitment and priority to get good results though...for at least 3 months.
It worked great, but if someone told me to do 200 pushups and 500 situps a day, that would've probably worked too.
Good luck!Comment

Here's a quick way to get your daily Protein.. (don't try this at home please)

on a more serious note when your trying to gain muscle mass ideally how much cardio do you want to be doing? Should you do it every day, every other day, or maybe twice a week?Minnesota Vikings

You made a great choice, P90X is one of the best out there. If I had more time commitment (and the equipment) I would do it. Instead, i settled for Tony Horton's 10-minute trainer - which is FANTASTIC for those who are pressed for time.Comment

Re: For all you guys wanting to gain muscle, size, etc.
You shouldn't do it everyday if muscle mass is your goal, as you need extra calories above what your resting metabolism is to add more muscle mass, as it is very difficult to add muscle mass when you're at a caloric deficit.
Cardio can put you in this deficit because of the amount of calories you can burn in one session. So you have to limit the amount of cardio that your doing, again if muscle mass is your primary goal.Last edited by TMagic; 05-22-2009, 02:13 PM.Comment

Re: For all you guys wanting to gain muscle, size, etc.
I weighted myself again on Monday, I now lost 15 pounds. I'm pissed though that I couldn't work out this week, I pulled something Monday at the gym and couldn't walk for nothing. I'm better now so can't wait to get back in there.XBL: DTX3

damn man that's pretty fast weight loss, how many cals are you eating? I hope it's mostly fat and not much muscle for your sake. Do you want to lose any more?Comment

Re: For all you guys wanting to gain muscle, size, etc.
I'm nearly finished with p90x and have seen great results. Every part of me is stronger and looks a lot better. I'm going to go through it a second time when I'm done, although I'll probably leave out the plyo and kenpo.

Awesome. I will definitely take your advice. The commitment is the hardest part for me just due to the strange hours I have to put in, but I know I can make it work.
Thanks for reassuring me. It's great to hear that this just isn't a scam or another get-ripped-quick scheme.I post the frog

Re: For all you guys wanting to gain muscle, size, etc.
i occasionally do the 10 minute trainer workouts. i was skeptical at first, i mean 10 minutes, c'mon. after the first workout, i was DUSTED. the movements are just awkward (in a good way) and there is no break (like there could be in a 10 minute routine). needless to say they work and are PERFECT if you are crunched for time...Comment

Re: For all you guys wanting to gain muscle, size, etc.
I started riding a bike like 10-20 miles a day. High Intensity biking burns around 1000 calories an hour. And it beats the hell out of running."Good music transcends all physical limits, it's more then something you hear, it's something that you feel, when the author, experience, and passion is real" - Murs (And this is for)Comment

Re: For all you guys wanting to gain muscle, size, etc.
I'm not keeping track of how many cals I'm eating, but I've been eating nothing but grilled chicken, salads, tuna, and just drinking a lot of calorie-less drinks. I'm still lifting weights but mostly doing my cardio routine. My goal is to get down to 200 or 205, so I got about 15 more pounds to go. I'm pretty surprised with how much weight I lost in the last month, but I'm feeling great. Once I get to my goal and continue to improve my stamina, I'll be taking some Muy Thai classes.XBL: DTX3

It's amazing how much better you feel when you are eating healthy food and doing regular excersize.Comment
