Re: For all you guys wanting to gain muscle, size, etc.
I'm starting the P90x regime on Monday, I was just curious if any of you other guys are doing it, it would be good to have a support group for this, it looks grueling. Like ODOGG I'm trying to get off my blood pressure medicine, it's affecting my libido, I barely even touch myself anymore.Comment

ODogg; I am proud man. Keep it up. You will be where you want to be if you keep putting in the work. It won't be easy man. Don't get discouraged because the deeper you get into this, the longer it will take for you to see the results come as quickly as they came when you first started. Yeah it sure is! I never dreamed I could get off the meds by June just from where I was at in January. I've worked harder though before than I ever have in my life in the gym.Streaming PC & PS5 games, join me most nights after 6:00pm ET on TwitchTV https://www.twitch.tv/shaunh20

Re: For all you guys wanting to gain muscle, size, etc.
Just wondering it's ok to have these on your diet.
the EAS Myoplex Lite Protein Bars... I have about 1 per day... this is just the regular Protein supplement bars, not the meal replacement bar. I have them to help supplement my daily Protein intake... and the Chocolate Peanut Butter Crisp is simply amazing.
the nutritional facts are here. http://www.bodybuilding.com/store/eas/myolitebar.html
...and also what do you guys think about in taking Dextrose post-work out? I've heard some arguments for an against.. mostly that your body needs a simple Carb to restore muscle glycogen.Minnesota Vikings

the stats look pretty good to me for this type of thing. honestly though i don't buy these things at all, i just eat tuna fish in water out of the can for protein or fruit for carbs as a snack. if you're into candy bars though and looking for a replacement i could def. see needing something like this.
as for taking dextrose, i don't know but I will say this just as a general comment. i think all of us who are trying to get fit and healthy should not be turning to these sorts of man-made products and should be trying to keep it as natural as possible. i don't believe in making shakes, protein powders, protein bars, body supplements, etc a real habit or something to rely upon. the body can do just great on natural items like fruit, fresh fish, nuts, etc.
don't get me wrong, i take a multi-vitamin and fish oil each day but i don't use items like hydroxycut, dextrose and shakes, special pills, or food supplements or enhancers or whatever because IMO no one really knows the true long term effects of this man-made stuff. btw, wasn't hydroxycut banned recently?Streaming PC & PS5 games, join me most nights after 6:00pm ET on TwitchTV https://www.twitch.tv/shaunh20

I can't speak on results for someone who is over weight or has a lot of excess around their mid section but the workout is def legit and you will see results if you stick to it."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

Re: For all you guys wanting to gain muscle, size, etc.
Ditch it, first of all it's way too expensive for something not all that healthy and you can make a healthier, cheaper bar at home.
Just look at all the ingredients in there, pretty scary. Esp with the 2nd and 3rd ingredients are corn syrup and HFCS. Stay away.
MyoPro® Protein Blend (Soy Protein Isolate, Whey Protein Isolate), Corn Syrup, High Fructose Corn Syrup, Polydextrose, Sugar, Tapioca Starch, Fractionated Palm Kernel Oil, Cocoa (Processed With Alkali), Milk Protein Concentrate, Water, Vitamin And Mineral Blend (Calcium Phosphate, Potassium Phosphate, Magnesium Oxide, Potassium Chloride, Ascorbic Acid, DL-Alpha Tocopheryl Acetate, Ferric Orthophosphate, Niacinamide, Calcium Pantothenate, Zinc Oxide, Chromium Citrate, Copper Gluconate, Vitamin A Palmitate, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride, Riboflavin, Thiamine Mononitrate, Folic Acid, Biotin, Potassium Iodide, Cyanocobalamin), Contains Less Than 2% Of The Following: Natural And Artificial Flavors, Unsweetened Chocolate, Cocoa, Dextrose, Cocoa Butter, High Oleic-Safflower Oil, Calcium Carbonate, Soy Lecithin, Salt, Guar Gum, Corn Maltodextrin, Sucralose"You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

Re: For all you guys wanting to gain muscle, size, etc.
Yeah that ingredient list is scary. Seriously you could just boil some eggs and eat a few of those or cook up a bunch of chicken breast on say sunday night, seperate into bags or tupperware containers then eat as required. It would be cheaper and much better for you as well.
Bars like this are crap imo and while i can see they serve a purpose like Odogg said if you have the choice you are much better going with real, unprocessed food where possible. I don't know about you but i want to have as little Cyanocobalamin and Pyridoxine Hydrochloride in my diet as possible.Last edited by Jonesy; 06-17-2009, 11:55 PM.Comment

I'm 2.5 weeks in, I'm eating pretty well and seeing some results. I was in good shape before starting and could see some of my abs and P90X has continued to trim away some stomach fat.

Re: For all you guys wanting to gain muscle, size, etc.
Im going to go ahead and order the P90X. After reading some of the posts on here I'd like to give it a try. Im not terribly overweight, I'm 5'11 about 195. I'd like to be 165 to 170 so I dont have to much to lose. My biggest thing/problem is not really having a regimen & a diet that I can follow. I workout atleast 3 times a week but i just dont really have any kind of plan for myself. I never really post a lot I mainly just come on here & read, but I will keep you guys posted on my progress if anyone cares.New Jersey Devils- 1995, 2000, 2003
