    1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    1 tablespoon baking powder
    1 1/4 teaspoons white sugar
    1 egg
    1 cup milk
    1/2 tablespoon butter, melted
    1/2 cup frozen blueberries, thawed

In a large bowl, sift together flour, salt, baking powder and sugar. In a small bowl, beat together egg and milk. Stir milk and egg into flour mixture. Mix in the butter and fold in the blueberries. Set aside for 1 hour.

Heat a lightly oiled griddle or frying pan over medium high heat. Pour or scoop the batter onto the griddle, using approximately 1/4 cup for each pancake. Brown on both sides and serve hot.

You can serve them with butter, brown sugar, or maple syrup. I've tried them all and they're all good.
Now that sounds good. I'll give that a try sometime.

I use a spoon full of sauce and spread it evenly.
        Cover the tortilla with cheese
Top the cheese with whatever you like.
Place it on a baking sheet and bake at 350 for about 5 minutes, just enough to melt the cheese.
I also cover the baking sheet with tin foil so I don't need to clean up.
It's a real good, thin crispy pizza on the cheap.
I will have to try that.

When I was 18 living in New York (before I caught my "break") I was pretty broke and meals like this was all I had!

I'll have to look for a recipe that my dad gave me. Stuffed peppers and stuffed cabbage. It tastes amazing and I'd like to share it with you guys..when I find it!

                Re: Share your recipes/easy meals

My wife and I do a pizza bread every once in a while.

We get a thick loaf of soft-french bread, or the smaller sizes (that makes it easier, because you just cut it in half).

Then you cut the bread in half horizontally (so into two long pieces).

Spread pasta sauce all over it, sprinkle mozzarella cheese all over, put on toppings (we buy pre-made pepperoni slices), then put a little more cheese on top of that.

I also put pizza seasoning on.

                Bake 15 minutes at 400F.

It's awesome. I'm having it now. It tastes like a really good pizza, and it's filling - and it's not nearly as bad for you as real pizza is.

                  OS Chefs Thread

I know we have a lot of talent cooks here on OS. We can use this as an all purpose FOOD TALK thread. Give out ideas/suggestions

I have a question. I have some rotini in the cabinet. I have some chicken breasts, and some fresh veggies (peppers, broccoli, onions, garlic). I need a sauce. I have used Olive Oul but that isn't enough.

                  Any suggestions?

                    That's all you need.

Throw some oil, garlic, salt, pepper, and basil or oregano in a pan, heat and cook the chicken.

Cook the pasta separately and drain.

Cook broccoli, onions, peppers, garlic, and some Italian seasons you like in a pan. If you have white wine, you can add that.

Then toss to combine and top with some shredded cheese if you want.

I have some crazy good Italian recipes that my dad makes. I'll get them to you when I visit back home!

I love cooking. I spent my whole life in the kitchen of my dad's restaurants and it pretty much grew on me. I was also a step away from going to Le Cordon Bleu in Ottawa, in hopes of becoming a professional. Anyways, great thread and I hope to get some recipes out of here!

Cook the chicken (don't use a non-stick pan), and after it's done and removed, keep the heat on and scrape off all the chickeny goodness (if you have white wine, turn up the heat a lot and deglaze the pan while scraping). Add some of the olive oil (or butter to make it better heh) if there's not much liquid left in the pan along with a little sprinkle of flour -- whisk that until the lumps are gone, throw some minced garlic in and any spices you want to cook for 1-2 minutes, add a bit of milk (cream is better) and let it reduce a bit. You'll have a nice garlic-cream sauce to toss the pasta in. Thicker sauces like that hold best on pastas like rotini, so that's what I generally like to do with pasta with a lot of texture.

I do love pasta just tossed in herbed or garlic olive oil though -- just put whatever herbs you want in a container (a squeeze bottle or olive oil dispenser) and then heat up some olive oil until it's warm, not hot. Then just add the oil to the container and store it in a cool place (or the fridge if you use garlic) for a week or so. Strain out the herbs and you have some nice clean flavored oil... It's great for drizzling over salads and pastas and you can also cook with it and add flavor to dishes.
