Re: Child Prodigy?
Haven't been whipped all my life... I believe I'm a pretty darn good kid, I don't think I've ever been convicted of anything you know.
The groundings can hurt you too, just as much as the whippings can.Comment

Re: Child Prodigy?
As a person whos been through both. BS. I'd take groundings all dang year. If I knew a beat down was as option you can guarantee I thought more about what I was going to do.Joshua:

Re: Child Prodigy?
It takes a special kid to achieve adult-like things at a young age. Call them a prodigy. Call them advanced. Call them gifted. Or, in this case, call them a lawyer.

Re: Child Prodigy?
Well that is not true at my Hall! We have a lot of kids in jail and they got their *** whipped by dad, mom and granny and still turn out bad. This little guy is no different then the kids I teach. I work with 12-15 age kids at the hall. So even though I find your statement very funny it is so not the truth though!Comment

I don't know about his home life, but I am sure his dad is no father of the year. So this make sense to me!Last edited by Scottdau; 03-16-2007, 10:14 PM.Comment

Re: Child Prodigy?
This is supposed to be an epidemic sweeping the country where younglings are breaking the law knowing they won't get punished extremely...but hey, at least they're not smart enough to plan an assassination of Jimmy Carter.
Sorry, didn't mean to diverge into politics, so I'll shut up... but back to the issue at hand, adolescents committing Grand Theft Auto is rampant all over the south. I wonder what else? oh yeah prostitution including minors is big money in Atl.Last edited by AI_Franchise; 03-17-2007, 12:54 AM.Comment

Re: Child Prodigy?
I was never grounded. Parents didn't believe in it. Never beaten, parents didn't believe in that.
Only punishment was getting soap in my mouth for walking around saying the 'f word' when I was six after watching "White Men Can't Jump."
I really think if you have your parents respect you, treat you well, and all of that...it's the best solution. Screw beating kids, screw grounding, screw all of that.Comment

Re: Child Prodigy?
I would have gladly taken a measly grounding instead of an *** whipping.
And I see nothing wrong with a good spanking from time to time. It's not child abuse like some people think.
Like Asianflow said, 99% of the time these kids come from broken or disfunctional homes. Not sure how you fix that.Last edited by Money99; 03-20-2007, 03:56 PM.Comment

Re: Child Prodigy?
As much as getting whoopings sucked, I prefered them to being on punishment. Maybe not at the time i was getting hit with the tree branch, but once the pain wore off it was all good. It was better to just get the whooping, cry for a bit, then play some sega or nintendo. It sure beat the hell out of (pun intended) coming home from school and not being able to doing anything but read books.Comment
