I'm a Digital Developer for one of the largest text book publishers in the world. In my current role I conduct focus groups with college instructors/students to gather data on how they use our educational technology in the classroom. This allows us to get market research needed as a basis when going into the planning phases of product.

I'm also a project manager in coordinating the development of website creations, DVD's, Blackboard/WebCt Course Development, and other course supplements with our vendors.Comment

 Re: What do you do?

I've had a few jobs this year that I left but I was hired to do telemarketing at this place and yesterday was my first day there and I show up and wait for the guy to get there and he tells me and this other guy who was working for awhile "I have bad news guys, there's no more telemarketing". Apparently the company I was supposed to work for had some people leave so they just fired everybody. It was actually funny but now I need to find a job.Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

 Re: What do you do?

Two weeks notice is not required for any job anymore. Any company that can fire you without notice does not require it. Is it customary? Sure, but can they legally give you a bad recommendation because of it, no.Just a little advice Sucre, I know you couldn't stand it, but for future reference, I'd at least give a 2 week notice. Your future employers will probably look for a reference, and when they contact your old employer, that's not a good thing (just quitting w/ no notice). It makes a manager feel like you could just walk out at any time, which is not who people want to hire.

As for me, I go to school full time, I sale insurance/customer service at my father's insurance agency, and I work on computers/networks at night. Needless to say, I don't sleep much, but it pays the bills, and has me living comfortably, so I'm not complaining too much. When/if I get into the Police Academy, then I will be much more happy, to be in a career instead of a job.

 Re: What do you do?

Yeah, I know that it isn't required.. but when I was Internet Manager at Paul Miller, if someone came to me, and I called for their reference... it put them in a bad light to me if they just up and quit the last position, with no notice.

I don't know, maybe I'm just old school in those regards. Heck, even when I was a Cashier at ****'s Sporting Goods, I gave my 2 weeks, lol.Twitter - WTF_OS

These days people don't bother with 2 weeks notice. I see more and more that people leave immediately upon giving notice.Comment
